Later in the evening, safely back at the White House, Trump held a press conference, looking gleeful and robust, a man who once again cheated death. His late night presser, against the wishes of his security team (per Trump), burnished his desired image as the invincible and masculine MAGA warrior. And after The Donald’s no good, very bad, horrible stretch of bad news recently, the week ended on best note imaginable for him. In the aftermath of the mayhem, Trump boasted that it would  have been “the most inappropriate speech ever made.”  Memo to the WHCA: don’t reschedule. Instead, start planning next year’s event and put in place much better security…The editor of the left-leaning Daily Beast, Hugh Dougherty, had the room next to the suspected WHCD shooter at the Washington Hilton, and noted several security flaws.
