Actors Are Idiots

This site takes a critical look at actors and entertainment execs who claim to be an authority on cultural and political issues. It was founded in September 2020 to combat the elite mentality of Hollywood celebrities. The site appears to be dormant at this time. This site stopped publishing in September 2022.

American, El

A bilingual conservative website in Spanish and English targeted to the Hispanic market in the U.S. Founded in 2020. Among its founding principles that were published on its website, “We know that socialism brings material and moral misery and we want to alert Hispanic Americans to what can happen if Democratic extremism continues to advance its agenda.” (Read TheRighting’s July 2022 profile) The site stopped publishing in mid-2023.

Americano Media

This company positions itself as the voice for conservative Hispanics. While it has both Spanish- and English-language news websites, the company features 18 hours a day of original content on radio and television platforms. “Americano Media is a network created by Hispanics to deliver a trusted source for truthful news for Hispanics,” said Ivan Garcia-Hidalgo, founder, chairman and chief executive. The company’s president isJorge L. Arrizurieta.

Blue State Conservative, The

The tagline of this small website is, “Because someone has to say this stuff.” Two-to-three stories appear to be posted a day by co-founders P.F. Whalen and Parker Beauregard. Whalen writes in the About page: “For those of you from Blue States like us, we must remain steadfast in embracing conservative values. And for those of you from Red States, please know that not everyone from Blue States are the whackos that the media portrays us to be. God Bless America.” This site stopped publishing in 2022.

Buchanan.org

The official website of former Nixon speechwriter Pat Buchanan who has had a long and influential career in conservative politics and remains a powerful voice in print, online and broadcasting.  Twice, he sought the GOP nomination for president.

Circa

Circa was the digital news service from Sinclair Broadcast Group.  It was positioned as Sinclair’s sole national news and entertainment brand.  Founded: July 2016.  The site stopped publishing in March 2019.

CNS

CNS was created by the right-leaning Media Research Council (tagline: America’s media watchdog) to offer an alternative news source to what the organization considered was a bias in news reporting.  The website offers commentary as well as coverage of national, international and Washington, DC, events.  Founded: 1998.  The site stopped publishing in 2023.

College Dissident

Launched in 2023, this site bills itself as the “premier outlet for Gen Z dissidents, providing a platform for students who have had their voices silenced by the establishment.” It was founded by Daniel Schmidt, when he was a sophomore at the University of Chicago. Schmidt drew the attention of the NY Times in July 2023 with his controversial opposition to a course at his university called “The Problem with Whiteness.” The site stopped posting in mid-2023.

Communities Digital News

Communities Digital News debuted January 1, 2010, as an adjunct to the Washington Times before moving on to its own site 2013. The website is pro-President Trump and the conservative message. Navigation bars include politics, sports, science, and business and money.

Conservative Daily Post

Founded in 2016. Claims to be one of the largest news publishers on the west coast. Navigation bars include politics, opinion and U.S.

Conservative Tribune

According to the company’s website, The Conservative Tribune   “promotes the values of family, limited government and individual freedom.  The company was acquired by Liftable Media in 2014, publisher of another right-wing website The Western Journal.  Liftable’s values “are integrally based on the Bible, the ultimate source of wisdom and the inspired, infallible, inerrant word of God.”  The Conservative Tribune has been criticized for promoting right wing conspiracies and glorifying violence against African Americans and Muslim.

Disrn

According to Media Bias Fact Check, this conservative leaning news and information website was launched in 2019 by Adam Ford, who founded satirical right-wing website The Babylon Bee. Ford also appears to host Disrn’s podcasts. It’s challenging to learn more about this website or even understand what its name refers to.

Hollywood Conservative, The

This site appears to be a one-person operation headed by Amanda Head, who began voicing her conservative opinions beginning around 2016. Her site publishes original articles several times a week.

Parler

Conservative-friendly social media site founded in 2018 that promotes itself as an unbiased website without censorship. A CNN Business article asserted that Parler resembled “a mashup of Twitter and Instagram, with its main feed, follower counts and ways to share posts and links.” The site was taken down following the January 6 Capitol riots. (The site was deplatformed in January 2021.)

RushLimbaugh.com

The website of the controversial, powerful and popular (and now deceased) radio talk show host and conservative political commentator.  His radio program is probably the most listened to talk-radio show in the country.  RushLimbaugh.com features transcripts of all his shows posted hours after broadcast. The format is easy to navigate and broken down by the show’s daily topics. The site was still active through August, 2021, despite the passing of Mr. Limbaugh in early 2021.

Truth Revolt

The Truth Revolt is a project of the David Horowitz Freedom Center, a conservative think tank.  A core belief of the Center is  that the political left has declared war on America and its constitutional system, and is willing to collaborate with America’s enemies abroad and criminals at home to bring America down. The Center also believes in the threat from the enemy within, a fifth column force that was steadily expanding its influence within the Democratic Party.  Truth Revolt is devoted to exposing what it perceives to be liberal bias in the media.  It was founded in 2013 and ceased operations in 2018.

Vox Day

This is both the name of this ultra-right website and the alternative moniker of its founder Theodore Beale. According to a 2020 article about Beale in the Daily Dot (one of the few stories about the site or Beale), he criticizes multiracial societies and approves of racially motivated acts attacks,

Weekly Standard

First published in 1995 by News Corporation, The Weekly Standard was once considered a leading magazine of conservative opinion and ideas.  Contributing writers included P.J. O’Rourke, David Frum and Brit Hume. The media outlet ceased operations in December 2018 (see Wall Street Journal article) when it was run by Clarity Media, the parent company of the Washington Examiner.
