TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Nov. 13, 2024

Greetings! So Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Defense is Fox News personality Peter Hegseth. I guess Dennis Quaid and Hulk Hogan weren’t available…Awkward! Trump makes the traditional visit to meet with Joe Biden at the White House today…Looks like Trump is creating a Department of Government Efficiency. Sounds like an oxymoron to me…Who was the GOP’s 2024  biggest election night loser?  Kari Lake, the conspiracy-spewing Arizona candidate for the U.S. Senate, per American Greatness…Mark Halperin cites four behind-the-scenes Trump supporters who helped power his way to victory in a Foxnews.com opinion piece.  The list includes Walt Nauta (remember him from the Mar-a-Lago documents case?), who still toils away as a loyal aide to The Donald…Nearly  90% of “Saturday Night Live’s” campaign jokes targeted Trump, according to a study by the conservative Media Research Council (NewsBusters)…Songs from two MAGA-friendly musicians topped Billboard’s digital sales charts. Tom MacDonald landed No. 1 with  Goodbye Joe (about a certain lame duck POTUS) followed by Lee Greenwood’s  God Bless the USA.  Why are these two tunes ruling the charts? The answer, my friend, is blowing in the rightward wind…Many of you have reached out to me, voicing your intentions to keep reading TheRighting in the perilous months ahead.  I’m compiling the correspondence and I’ll post it early  next week.  Thanks to all who responded…If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard
