Phrase of the week: Constitutional crisis…Question of the week: If the executive branch of our federal government has essentially neutered the legislative branch and ignores the judicial branch, are we still living in a democracy? The answer seems painfully obvious. With apologies to The Washington Post’s famous slogan, democracy is not dying in darkness, but in broad daylight and on prime time television…The Daily Wire’s star podcaster Ben Shapiro has ramped up his efforts pushing for a pardon for Derek Chauvin, the Minnesota police officer who was found guilty in the murder of George Floyd in the spring of 2020. Earlier this week, Shapiro’s podcast kicked off the new series The Case for Derek Chauvin, which he bills as the “most important multi-part series this company has ever produced.” New episodes drop every Tuesday and Thursday. Shapiro also provides a link to Derek Chauvin’s legal defense fund…Outkick claims that Michelle Obama’s new podcast is already a disaster. “Despite an all-out media campaign to get attention, she’s not really moving the needle. Her most-watched video is at 265,000 (views). No other video comes close,” wrote reporter David Hookstead. “It has ticked upward since its launch, but that’s not good for someone with her level of fame and media backing.” The “IMO” program launched earlier this month and is co-hosted with Michelle’s brother Craig Robinson…And finally, birthday greetings to my twin sister today.
