As we approach April Fool’s Day, this headline from the right wing The Babylon Bee seems appropriate: “Federal Judge Orders Astronauts to Be Returned to Space Station.” With acid-dipped tongue planted in cheek, the piece proclaims: “A district judge has issued a ruling saying Trump lacked the Constitutional authority to pick up two astronauts who have been stranded at the International Space Station for several months. Eyewitnesses say the judge then donned a Keffiyeh and spray painted a Cybertruck while screaming ‘Black Lives Matter’”…Another day and more examples of Rupert-Murdoch-controlled news outlets criticizing Donald Trump’s policies. “Defunding the Voice of America is a win for China and Iran,” assert a Wall Street Journal essay. “Trump, don’t heed the dangerous urge to attack the rule of law,” cautions the NY Post. Worth noting: the prime time hosts of Murdoch’s Fox News are still loud and proud supporters of the Trump 2.0 administration…Since Trump was reelected, I’ve predicted that the upcoming Pride Month would be greatly diminished owing to the political chill blanketing the country. Here’s some solid evidence bolstering my contention: Comcast and Anheuser-Busch have significantly cut their funding for San Francisco’s annual Pride March and Festival at the end of June.
