TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Oct. 18, 2024

Greetings! Dept. of Surprises: Steve Gruber.com’s Liberty Paige, wrote that during Kamala Harris’s contentious interview with Fox News host Brent Baier,  the feisty Veep “held her own.” Furthermore, Paige chastised  Baier for bullying her. I disagree with most things Paige writes, but I’m with her on this issue…Offensive! The Daily Torch ran a racist cartoon of “Uncle Barack” Obama as a whip-toting slave master admonishing Black men to “get back on the plantation”…Worth noting: Right-tilting  The Free Press spotlights the white women who regret voting for Trump in 2020…Donald Trump sat down for a 30-minute video interview on Outkick with retired wrestler George Murdoch, now known as Tyrus. The conservative sports site boasts that The Donald destroyed “the fake news media” in his Tyrus sitdown…NewsBusters is peeved with CBS News. The site has a list of “the top 7 worst moments” of election interference by CBS news.  Making the list are Dan Rather’s failed takedown of George H.W. Bush over the Iran-Contra affair, as well as the legendary newsman’s 60 Minutes piece that relied on doctored documents to question George W. Bush’s dodgy military service…Weekend Watch: It’s the ALCS series between New York and Cleveland for this die-hard Yankees fan.  Although after last night’s crushing extra inning loss to the Guardians, maybe I’ll just read a good book, like  Paper of Wreckage, an oral history of the New York Post. I just finished the chapter about Rupert Murdoch’s 1976 chilling takeover of the Post when nearly nobody knew who he was or his ruthless ways.  That acquisition gave him an entree into the media capital of the world. It also created a foundation that 20 years later birthed Fox News resulting in truth becoming an endangered concept…If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting.  Howard
