TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Nov. 20, 2024

Greetings! Another sign of the apocalypse?  The Trump Dance has taken the sports world by storm, “quickly becoming part of the culture” (The Sporting News).  It may be time for me to spend more time fishing and less time watching the NFL… Jeff Dorman, a Righting subscriber,  recommends several progressive Substacks for discerning readers “who will not be sticking their heads in the sand.”  His list includes columns from progressive  radio host  Thom Hartmann, data scientist Stephen Spoonamore, political analyst Rachel “The Doc” Bitecofer,  ex-LA Times scribe Matt Pearce, and lauded historian Heather Cox Richardson…Professional Trump critic and dazzling wordsmith Michael Wolff is working on another Trump book and MAGA-world is up in arms. Fifteen high-ranking members of Team Trump released a statement today, which in part reads, “A number of us have received inquiries from the disgraced author Michael Wolff, whose previous work can only be described as fiction…(W)e encourage others to completely disregard whatever nonsense he eventually publishes.” You can’t buy that type of publicity and Wolff must be thrilled.  I can’t wait to read…Somehow this slipped under my radar.  For nearly a year, Tucker Carlson’s been successfully spewing on his own daily podcast. Apple just named it one of 2024’s most popular podcasts. Keep in mind, “popular” is a squishy term. It doesn’t mean “The Tucker Carlson Show” is the most listened to or most subscribed.  Apple does not release those hard numbers…In  the shameless plug department, my talented daughter Hannah, whose artwork has been lauded in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and other respected outlets, makes menorahs that are so beautiful they also function as free-standing pieces of art. She’s offering our readers free shipping using the code THERIGHTING at checkout. You can visit her site here.  Hanukkah is five weeks away…If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard
