TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Jun. 9, 2025

Greetings! No one’s talking about Elon Musk today. The spotlight has pivoted from his headline-grabbing smackdown last week with Trump to Los Angeles where The Donald has sent the National Guard. They are responding to protests marked by sporadic violence against the Trump administration’s draconian immigration enforcement policies.  The National Guard took to the streets of the City of Angels, despite California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s protests, stating it would only inflame an already volatile situation. My guess is Trump would welcome violent confrontations so he can declare martial law, sending us into terrifying uncharted waters…The Wall Street Journal opines Trump has gone too far and Sec. of Defense Pete “Hair Gel” Hegseth “was needlessly provocative in tweeting that Marines at Camp Pendleton are on alert to intervene.”  Still, the editors blame Joe Biden and his fellow Dems for not doing enough to enforce immigration policies that caused chaos that was key in putting Trump back in power….Meanwhile, in one of last night’s Truth Social posts, Trump says that he empowered AG Bondi, Sec. of Homeland Security Noem, and Hegseth “to take all such action necessary to liberate Los Angeles from the Migrant Invasion, and put an end to these Migrant riots.”…Elon Musk supports Trump’s calling in the National Guard to Los Angeles.  The Gateway Pundit has the details and it reveals some serious knee-bending on Musk’s part…Word of the day: Insurrection…Most powerful men in Washington are gay.  So says 24-year-old Natalie Winters, Washington–based correspondent for “Steve Bannon’s War Room” podcast  The NY Post dubs Winters DC’s “most outrageous correspondent”…Dept. of Corrections: On Friday, I wrote about a comment Fox’s Greg Gutfeld made on “Fox & Friends.” The show was Fox’s “The Five”…If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting.
