Greetings on this holiday weekend! The conservative Murdoch-controlled Wall Street Journal has published two editorials critical of Trump’s policies.  The editors give a big thumbs down to POTUS for “stiffing Ukraine on arms.” They predict it won’t produce a lasting peace because the U.S. comes across as weak. In another op-ed, the editors also disapprove of Trump’s lawfare against the press.  “The President is using government to intimidate news outlets that publish stories he doesn’t like,” they write. “It’s a low move in a free country with a free press”…As I reported yesterday, the right-wing website American Greatness has stopped posting articles and the site is basically blank. There’s a bit more to the story, according to this Distractify report….My favorite new tech service: Waymo.  I’ve used the driverless ride-hailing service several times during my current visit to Los Angeles and it’s fantastic.  Think of Uber without the tip (!) and the conversation with driver. Plus the vehicles are all Jaguars so I’m really cruising first class while paying economy.  The future is here (or at least in Los Angeles and four other cities)…Weekend Watch, July 4^th edition: A West Wing marathon seems appropriate to celebrate the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, which established the United States.  The series, available on Max, embodies the inspiring values that our Founding Fathers gave us.
