We’ve been invited by the director, James Gunn, to view Superman as an “immigrant” and, obviously, given the circumstances of his arrival by rocket ship on the planet, “undocumented.” Clearly, Gunn means to plant the super thumb firmly on the scales of the current immigration debate, while thumbing his own nose in his public comments at anyone who might find this objectionable.
