While Pompeo has yet to clearly lay out the tactics that will be needed for the State Department to get its “swagger back” he has made great strides in a week. But, by clearly articulating the president’s foreign policy, providing clear choices to other nations, and reaffirming the importance of American diplomacy, Pompeo has made a real start.
