CNN’s report mentions up front that it includes “gang violence, fights, and domestic violence” as well as “accidental discharge of a firearm” in the parameters for determine a “school shooting.” But in context of the breaking news about a school shooting, where an individual murdered students, CNN’s headline implies that there have been 22 similar incidents this year — and that is not true.
