Right-Wing News Websites Post July Traffic Gains, Snapping Two-Month Losing Streak

But Truth Social Nosedives Again

After two consecutive months of all right-wing news websites tracked by TheRighting experiencing declines in year-over-year (YOY) visits, three outlets posted traffic increases.  According to TheRighting’s exclusive analysis of mobile and desktop traffic based on Similarweb data in July 2026, American Greatness, the Washington Times and The Free Press showed traffic growth compared to July 2025

However, 14 right-wing websites in TheRighting’s top 20 had double-digit YOY losses including Truth Social, which had one of its worst months ever, dropping 36% YOY. In June, the Trump-controlled platform plunged 48%.

“It’s surprising that Truth Social’s traffic dropped so dramatically,” said Howard Polskin, President, TheRighting. “The president uses that platform as a powerful megaphone to communicate policy, batter opponents, and praise and promote politicians who toe the MAGA line. The decline suggests that traffic to Truth Social is starting to parallel his cratering polling numbers owing to war in Iran. The public may be tiring of his incessant, hyperbolic messaging.”

The three mainstream news websites TheRighting follows on a monthly basis all had YOY decreases in visits: CNN (-25%), the Washington Post (-13%) and the NY Times (-2%).
