Greetings! Regime Change, the year’s most talked about nonfiction book, drops today. Within its pages, NY Times scribes Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan reveal frightening fly-on-the-wall scenes (or microphone in the Situation Room) from the tumultuous first year of Trump 2.0. Both the NY Times and The New Yorker grace “Regime Change” with rave reviews. I watched Haberman and Swan on MS NOW last night and found their revelations about the insane workings of The Donald’s White House more frightening than my own already nightmarish imaginings. Worth noting: Trump often refers to Haberman as “Maggot.” Classy (not)….More book news: Exactly who covered up Joe Biden’s cognitive decline? That answer may be forthcoming in a new book from Lindy Li, a veteran Democratic fundraiser, according to Fox News. Titled Unburdened, Li’s tell-all has a September 15 pub date, which is the same month that Biden’s White House memoir is scheduled for release. My guess is neither book will be welcomed by Dems just weeks before midterm elections. They will draw attention away from Trump’s growing list of liabilities and frailties, and revisit old wounds of the Biden administration that deserve to be in the nation’s rear view mirror…Read the room SecDef: Pete “Hairgel” Hegseth has a NY Post op-ed attempting to make a case that the U.S. needs to increase its defense spending to preserve the nation’s economic might.
