TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Feb. 3, 2026

Greetings! I spent this past Saturday morning in Florida watching the film “Melania.” Here’s the op-ed I wrote for MSNOW with my impressions of the vanity production and what it was trying to say to MAGA nation. Spoiler alert: She supposedly champions children’s issue, but in the film she reveals her favorite performing artist is Michael Jackson who had been accused of child molestation many times….Don’t call it ice: USA Today’s Christine Brennan reports that the name of the hospitality facility in Milan, Italy, for three U.S. Olympic governing bodies has been changed. Previously, it was called Ice House (clever!). Now, it’s known as the Winter House (not so clever, but much safer).  And if disgraced Border Patrol official Greg Bovino visits, just refer to it as the Dog House. The eyes of the nation are upon you…Trump just announced the two-year closing of the Kennedy Center in DC ostensibly for a sprucing up. But Jeffrey Blehar of the National Review reveals the real reason for the shutdown beginning later this year. “Artists simply will not play there anymore,” he writes. “I’m sure that when Trump is through ‘revitalizing’ it in late 2028, it’ll be 20 feet taller and covered in fake-gold plating. Just in time for President Newsom’s January 2029 Grand Reopening”…If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard
