Greetings! The Wall Street Journal is increasingly anti-ICE. In a blistering op-ed, WSJ editors note that while ICE arrests are on the uptick, fewer of those apprehended have criminal records. In addition, the traditionally conservative outlet has an editorial from Tim Walz of all people. The Minnesota governor, frequently a target of right-wing media derision, writes that federal officials “are lying” about the deadly assault on his state and that the ICE invasion is “un-American”…Dept. of Duh: the National Review declares that Kristi Noem “is a liability for the Trump administration”….Tom Homan will be in Minnesota today. Ostensibly, it’s to speak to Gov. Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and forge some type of peace. I suspect Homan’s mission is to manage all the fallout from DHS lies about the two U.S. citizens, Alex Pretti and Renee Nicole Good, who were shot to death by ICE agents….Don’t let the pepper spray canisters hit you on the ass on your way out: Gregory Bovino, the noxious face of the violent Twin Cities roundup of immigrants, departs the beleaguered city today, according to multiple press reports. Let’s hope that’s the last we see of the Trump henchman and his Third Reich-inspired attire…The right-wing sports outlet Outkick praises Budweiser for its just unveiled “unbelievably patriotic Super Bowl commercial” for the February 8 game. The spot features several bucolic scenes with a horse, a tiny bird and lots of snow. I’m not sure it’s patriotic, but it warmed my heart in this bitter cold season and put a much-needed smile on my face…If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard
