The gesture demeans him and the award…Book Beat: Somehow this provocatively titled nonfiction book, How Conservatives Can Outlive Liberals, escaped my attention when it was published last year.  My suggested subhead:  If you can’t beat them at the ballot box, let them beat you to the grave…The American Thinker lays out all the reasons Marco Rubio will be the GOP candidate for president in 2028, not JD Vance.  All good points….Who’s heard of Brandolino’s Law?  Certainly not me, until I read Kevin Williamson’s excellent article in The Dispatch today in which he wrote that Brandolino’s Law posits that the “amount of energy needed to refute bullshit is an order of magnitude bigger than that needed to produce it.”  The article, titled “Exhaustion Is (Still) the Strategy,” is naturally about the Trump presidency….Weekend Watches:  Hit and Run is an action-packed, nine-part Netflix thriller set in Tel Aviv and New York.  The beautiful wife of an Israeli tour guide with a dark past is killed in a hit and run accident, and he sets out to New York to find the truth about her mysterious death. Ignore the many implausible plot points and enjoy the gritty performance of male lead Lior Raz.  Also watchable: Marty Supreme. Long, but engrossing movie now in theaters.
