TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Nov. 14, 2025

Greetings! Flying “right”: Earlier this week, I flew Delta from snow-bound Syracuse to New York City. In announcing that our takeoff would be delayed over the PA system, the flight attendant blamed it on the “Democrat shutdown.” For a moment, I thought I was flying the Trump Shuttle, which went belly up in 1992…The Wall Street Journal editorial board has a dim view of Congress revisiting the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.  “Could there be a better example of Congressional dysfunction than that its first pressing business after the government reopens is the return of the Jeffrey Epstein follies?”the editors wrote.   “This is exactly what the American people weren’t waiting for.” I don’t know about the rest of the nation, but I for one support a deep dive into Epstein files….Meanwhile, WND claims  some of  the old  Epstein emails suggest that Hillary Clinton “was doing nasties with Vince.”  The Vince in question, according to WND, is  “presumably the suicided Vince Foster”….Numbskull-in-Chief: In a Truth Social post this morning, Trump touts a new book by the pro-wrestling personality George “Tyrus” Murdoch. In a previous post on the thread, he openly wondered if the performer and frequent Fox News guest was related to the media mogul Rupert Murdoch. He’s not, although presumably the president would have someone on his staff to fact-check his posts.  Worth noting: The Donald wrote the introduction to the wrestler’s What It Is, America. …Weekend Watches: The six-part Ken Burns documentary The American Revolution bows Sunday night on PBS.  Reviews have been tepid, like this one from The Hollywood Reporter. I’m still betting on Burns to deliver an important documentary about the birth of our country. A more entertaining choice is definitely Apple+’s  nine-episode sci-fi series Pluribus. I’ve seen the first two episodes and I’m hooked. Lousy name, BTW…If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard
