Word of the day: kleptocracy.  That’s one of the ways to describe President Trump’s posh dinner last night for investors in his $TRUMP meme coin business.  Attendees forked over millions to attend.  The Wall Street Journal reported that the event generated nearly $150 million in sales to his company…Dept. of No Surprises:  I’m sure you won’t be shocked to learn of another embarrassing Oval Office gaffe by POTUS.  During Wednesday’s hostile meeting with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Trump thought he was showing images of dead white farmers from South Africa.  The images actually came from Reuters footage in Congo that was published in the right-wing online magazine American Thinker..  Oops!….Weekend Watch: While it’s not a mindless popcorn movie to enjoy over the long weekend that kicks off the summer of 2025, I nonetheless urge you to stream the three-part Netflix documentary American Manhunt: Osama bin Laden. It’s an action-packed three-hour series filled with plenty of heroes and one nasty, bearded villain hiding on the other side of the world. While we know the outcome (spoiler alert: bin Laden gets shot and killed in his compound in Pakistan by a U.S. Seal team), the series bristles with tension.  It’s equal parts thriller and history lesson. President Obama gambled his legacy and second term by greenlighting the risky operation.  So on this Memorial Day weekend, it’s appropriate that we salute the 23 members of the Seal Team Six who risked their lives in defense of America…Enjoy the long weekend.  I’m bringing “Original Sin” to the beach.
