TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Mar. 27, 2025

Greetings! Another day, another NY Post op-ed criticizing team Trump’s botched response to the unfolding Signalgate scandal.  Former federal prosecutor Andrew McCarthy hammers home the point that it’s foolish for the administration to claim the messages weren’t classified. He termed it “an unconscionable security breach”…Worth noting: More MAGA-loving media outlets are critical of Signalgate. The right wing Trump-supporting Victory Girls has given the stink eye to the Trump administration’s handling of the Signal fiasco.  “Trying to dodge what happened, or claim it wasn’t a big deal, is completely the wrong strategy to pursue,” wrote the blog’s Deanna Fisher.  “The Trump administration screwed up, and it would be better for everyone if they just admitted it.” The National Review also agrees that all involved should concede the error. The Washington Examiner flatly stated that the Signal chat included classified information.  And finally, American Spectator mocked the security team calling them “The Gang That Couldn’t Spook Straight”…Pete Hegseth once again comes across as an incompetent hothead who can’t control his emotions. Just watch him try to explain away the error. Pete’s dragons – the boozing, the womanizing, his slippery relationship with the truth  — have never been fully tamed. It’s time for him to take a walk and join disgraced Matt Gaetz in the prime time lineup at OAN…Tucker Carlson announced the death of his 84-eyar-old father Dick Carlson. (Daily Caller) … Dept. of Corrections:  Yesterday, I included the wrong link for an article by our contributor Michael Lovito about the right wing journalist and activist Shane Trejo who is pushing to extend Trump’s presidency beyond 2028.  Here’s the correct link for the eye-opening profile…If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting.
