Vast Majority of Top Right-Wing News Websites Suffer Double-Digit Traffic Declines in September
Truth Social, the Trump-controlled social media platform, experienced its fifth consecutive month of declines in year-over-year (YOY) according to TheRighting’s exclusive analysis of mobile and desktop traffic based on Similarweb data in September 2026.
Truth Social registered only 15,300,000 visits last month compared to September 2025 when the site drew 20,400,000 visits. That represented a drop of 25%. The last month Truth Social showed a gain in visits was April 2026 when it posted a 45% YOY increase based on 48,800,000 visits, the largest number of visits in 2026.
“Despite President Trump’s increasingly frenetic use of Truth Social as a weapon to bludgeon his opponents, distort the truth, insult his adversaries and promote his far-right political allies, audiences are not taking the bait,” said Howard Polskin, President, TheRighting. “It’s tempting to look at the declining visits to Truth Social as a rejection of Trumpism. If so, the Republican midterm candidates are indeed in trouble because most are tethered to Trump.”
TheRighting also found that 95% of right-wing news websites in its top 20 chart experienced double-digit YOY traffic declines. Only The American Conservative posted a gain.
The four mainstream news websites TheRighting follows on a monthly basis all had decreases in their YOY visits: CNN ((-43%), The Washington Post (-19%) , The Atlantic (-6%), and The NY Times (-5%).
