Traffic to Truth Social Soars 45% in April While Other News Websites Decline

Trump-Controlled Platform Vaults to #2 in Traffic for First Time Ever

Year-over-year (YOY) visits in April to the Trump-controlled Truth Social rose 45%, while almost every news website monitored by TheRighting experienced declines.  Only the Epoch Times posted a small increase of 0.2%.

According to TheRighting’s exclusive analysis of mobile and desktop traffic based on Similarweb data, Truth Social attracted 48.8 million visits in April 2026, up from 33.7 million in April 2025. That gain powered Truth Social to rank #2 on TheRighting’s top 20 chart (based on visits)  for the first time ever. Last month it ranked #4.

“Truth Social was an anomaly in April as its year-over-year traffic rose dramatically,” said Howard Polskin, President, TheRighting. “Meanwhile visits to the vast majority of news websites monitored by TheRighting dropped at an alarming rate capping a three-month trend suggesting that the war in Iran is not driving more traffic. Truth Social seems to be benefiting by positioning itself as one of President Trump’s main channels for communicating his increasingly erratic strategy about the war and his often chaotic world view.”

The three mainstream news websites TheRighting tracks on a monthly basis, all saw YOY decreases in visits: The Washington Post (-20%), CNN (-11%) and The NY Times (-3%).
