TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Worth remembering: April 2020, when the world was in full pandemic lockdown. In recognition of those dark days, TheRighting has published a list of 200 outrageous right wing headlines from that terrifying time five years ago. It’s a toxic brew of misinformation and misdirection that harmed untold thousands of people and needlessly divided our nation at such a deadly time…Another day, another NY Post op-ed opposing Donald Trump’s tariffs. This one is from Tad DeHaven, who predicts tariffs will turn our economy upside down. “Rather than tamp down inflation or boost growth, the broad tariffs Trump plans to impose this week are likely to upend our economy in damaging ways,” opines DeHavens…Ex-CBS News legend Dan Rather posted this gem of a Turkish proverb on Facebook: “When a clown moves into a palace, he doesn’t become a king.  The palace instead becomes a circus”…Townhall’s William Marshall suggests that the U.S. put down billions of green to buy  Greenland from Denmark. Marshall says the U.S. should pay every one of Greenland’s 55,000 citizens $1 million dollars to garner support for an American takeover.  That alone would cost $55 billion.  I’m sure a million bucks would have a lot of Greenlanders blinded with dollar signs…The right wing billionaire’s club welcomed a new member. Yesterday, Newsmax went public and its value immediately skyrocketed north of 700% making founder and CEO Chris Ruddy on paper worth more than $3 billion. (Forbes)…Meanwhile, another high profile conservative media outlet, The Daily Wire, has hit some speed bumps. Its entertainment division, which promised way more than it delivered, appears to be on life support after staff cuts and executive exodus, according to Status News. I’m not surprised. I never completely bought The Daily Wire hype about its ambitions in programming for kids…If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard

The Not-So-Golden State

source: Unleash Prosperity

We don’t like to always pick on California (OK, we actually do!), but the latest jobs data by state illustrate just what has gone wrong in the Golden State, and much of the rest of blue state America. They have become overly reliant on government for growth.

Why “Working Man” Actor Jason Statham Is the Action Hero We Need

source: Hollywood in Toto

Most people don’t know where Statham stood on Brexit, nor did he weigh in on the 2024 U.S. presidential election. He doesn’t wear pro-Palestinian ribbons on the red carpet, and he hasn’t shared his thoughts on the U.S. border crisis. He lets his fists do the talking for him, at least on-screen.

Columbia’s New Interim President Called Congressional Antisemitism Hearings “Nonsense”

source: Geller Report

We are now on the third Columbia president and this latest one, Claire Shipman, has criticized the House investigation on campus antisemitism, calling the hearings ‘capital hill nonsense.” Shipman is a former CNN correspondent.

Is the Drudge Report Now Just a George Soros Propaganda Page

source: SteveGruber.com

Remember when Drudge blasted Hillary’s coughing fits, and ran wall-to-wall border crisis headlines? Now it’s just TDS economic doomsday clock ticks. The sky is falling because of Trump, according to Drudge. So one has to ask…Is George Soros running the Drudge Report?

Wealthy Baby Butchers at Planned Parenthood Cry Poor While Raking in Fat CEO Checks

source: SteveGruber.com

It’s hard to keep a straight face when Planned Parenthood whines about a possible future financial hardship while cutting six-figure checks to their top brass like they’re handing out lollipops. The abortion giant’s affiliate CEOs cashed in to the tune of nearly $20 million in 2023.

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Memo to Joe Biden: Brace yourself for a rocky few mudslinging months.  A bunch of books on his controversial presidency are set to publish, and the inside word on these tomes is that they paint a damning picture of Sleepy Joe’s White House.  The Biden books include: Fight: Inside the Wildest Battle for the White House (April 1); Uncharted: How Trump Beat Biden, Harris, and the Odds in the Wildest Campaign in History (April 8); Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again (May 20); and 2024: How Trump Retook the White House and the Democrats Lost America (July 8).  Politico has some juicy pre-publication  details…Question of the day: Will MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell return to his primetime perch tonight? He’s been gone for two weeks after what was supposed to be a one-week absence. The network has said very little…Donald Trump plans to meet soon with frequent MAGA antagonist Bill Maher  The Donald confessed to mixed emotions about the sit down with the host of HBO’s “Real Time,” which was arranged by his pal Kid Rock. Here’s Trump’s post about it on Truth Social: “I really didn’t like the idea much, and don’t like it much now, but thought it would be interesting. The problem is, no matter how much he likes your Favorite President, ME, he will publicly proclaim what a terrible guy I am.” As for me: I’m fed up with all the bending of the knee…Attention investors: Newsmax’s stock begins trading on the New York Stock Exchange today under the symbol NMAX….If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Time for Trump to Make a Real Estate Deal for Greenland

source: Fox News

This is not a president who puts much store in intangible multilateral defense agreements that allow the United States to pay for the protection of Danish Greenland. No, he wants the land, not some complicated leasing agreement.

Oh Canada, Our Fifty-First State?

source: Townhall

Canada is a frozen banana republic, the picture of a former British colony that was granted its independence, which adopted the Anglo-American legal tradition, but embraced big government statism as the answer to all of man’s problems.

DEI Is on the Run

John Stossel: The problem is that DEI programs were captured by activists who obsess about victimhood. They divide people more than they empower.

Woke “Snow White” Hits Embarrassing Box Office Low

source: Outkick

Most major blockbuster films spend a few weeks at the top of the box office. It's a bad sign if that's not the case, and that's exactly where "Snow White" now finds itself.

What’s Wrong with White British Boys?

source: European Conservative

The white working-class lads who once formed the backbone of Britain have had enough. Derided, scorned, and blamed for every ill under the sun, they’re no longer signing up to die for a country that’s made it clear it doesn’t want them. And who can blame them?
