TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Irony alert: While Los Angeles struggles with social unrest and the aftermath of the deadly January fires, we mourn today the death of Beach Boys resident genius Brian Wilson whose music embodied the utopian ideal of southern California.  His songs helped shape the country’s image of his native land as a magical place filled with abundant sunshine, glorious beaches, girls in bikinis, souped-up cars and tanned, healthy surfers...Gag alert. The NY Post’s fiery conservative columnist Miranda Devine seems to grovel at President Trump’s feet after he appeared as the first guest on her podcast “Pod Force One.” This is what she wrote in the Post about her POTUS  interview. “When you meet Donald Trump, the first thing you notice is his hospitality. He is a bountiful host who always wants to make visitors feel comfortable. He will quite literally offer you the food off his plate.” To that, I would have said, “Thank you, but I’ve already eaten”...Phrase of the week: “They went too far,” wrote Musk about his tweets sandbagging Trump.  If only he wrote that about his DOGE cuts I’d feel better...Annals of Idiocy: Trump’s dig at Joe Biden during his Fort Bragg speech Tuesday backfired spectacularly.  “I’ve known this guy a long time,” Trump sneered.  “He’s not the sharpest bulb.” The HuffPost headline captured the flub perfectly: “Trump Mocked After Suffering Brain Fart While Trying to Insult Biden”...If you’re going to any of the “No Kings” protests planned this weekend, please send me images so I can post the beginning of next week.  Be sure to include your name (if you want) and where the picture was taken or any other info you want to include.  Send  to howard(at)TheRighting.com...If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. The Rogue’s New Gallery of Left-Wing Scoundrels

The left’s martyr-making machine is in overdrive—recasting criminals, rioters, and radicals as victims, even as the public demands law, order, and sanity.

Gavin Newsom’s Big LA Riot Lie

source: Washington Examiner

California Gov. Gavin Newsom is in a tough spot. He wants to be the next presidential nominee for the Dems, which means he cannot be seen as supporting Trump’s efforts to deport illegal immigrants. But at the same time, if he allows his fellow Democrats and their allied open borders activists to obstruct federal law enforcement, chaos will ensue.

California protects violent criminals from federal law. Trump’s ICE isn’t backing down — and the Constitution is on his side.

Gavin Newsom Is the White, Male Kamala Harris

source: The Federalist

Kamala didn’t believe anything, which is why she took the opposite side of all of her major positions three months ahead of the election. Newsom doesn’t believe anything, which is why he’ll attempt to do the same if he’s able to secure the Democrat nomination.

Gavin Newsom’s Primetime Speech Was a Political Failure

source: Victory Girls

Gavin Newsom wants to be President. However, if he REALLY wants the job, bitching and getting tearful about President Trump instead of laying out solutions to the riots, prioritizing illegal aliens over California citizens, and demonizing law enforcement is not the way. Yet that is the path he’s chosen.

Companies are finally beginning to realize that it is not helpful to their bottom line to alienate a significant portion of their customer base by promoting a lifestyle that is offensive to many.

Trump Is Making Military Bases Great Again

source: SteveGruber.com

In true Trump fashion, the renaming of things isn’t just about nostalgia – it’s about getting rid of the woke crap that the Democrats thrust upon us. By swapping out activists for warfighters and replanting the stars and stripes over once “cancelled” forts, Trump is signaling a return to military tradition and greatness

Trump’s 50% Steel Tariff Is a Necessary Shield for American Industry

source: Fox Business News

By Peter Navarro: As global steel overcapacity reaches dangerous new heights and import surges hammer American producers, the original 25% tariffs under Section 232 are no longer sufficient to shield our industrial base from foreign market manipulation, particularly by Chinese state-linked exporters. A stronger line must be drawn

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Irony alert: the days are getting lighter as the nation slips into darkness....Ray of sunshine? California Governor Gavin Newsom gave an inspiring address yesterday blasting Donald Trump’s decision to deploy the National Guard to the streets of Los Angeles. NBC News has the details. In wake of Newsom’s speech, the NY Times opines that he may be the one to lead the Democrats in the fight against Trump’s authoritarian regime. FrontPage theorizes that the Golden State Governor secretly wants to be arrested so that he could vault to the top of the Trump resistance  and “add fuel to the Trump-is-dictator nonsense in the bargain.” Wherever this leads, Newsom owned the news cycle for a few precious hours. (Here’s the speech transcript)...Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) is drawing praise from the conservative blog Victory Girls for besmirching LA’s anti-ICE demonstrations.  Fetterman described the unrest as “anarchy and true chaos.” Victory Girls gushed that “Senator Fetterman has the clarity that essentially NONE of his fellow Democrats do. They’ve all been working overtime to gaslight us all into believing that all the protests have been peaceful”...Infowars sounds the alarm about this Saturday’s “No Kings” mass protest and frames it as a coup to topple the current administration. According to the bile-spewing InfoWars, “The leftist legacy media, in coordination with Democrats, is laying the groundwork for an attempted overthrow of America by portraying President Trump as a lawless monarch.” Sheesh.  That’s a lot of crazy to process...If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. LA’s Anti-ICE Rioters Are Launching the Left’s American Intifada

source: NY Post

Mexico, and indeed all of Latin America, is America’s Palestine, and when illegal immigrants cross the border, when they resist deportation, when they and their allies riot, this is justified resistance to colonialism. In Palestinian terms, it’s an intifada, or at least the beginnings of one.
