The nation at turning point:  Rhetoric that flooded across social media, cable news and other platforms almost immediately after the assassination of Charlie Kirk points to a disturbing truth. The nation is heading down a dark and ominous path.  The National Review said the quiet part out loud. “The murder of the Turning Point USA leader represents a shocking event that may herald a turn toward greater political violence in America,” the editors wrote. “God help us.” Most observers on the left and right would not dispute that sentiment and it represents my POV as well... Charlie Kirk was one of the most popular right-wing podcasters.  “The Charlie Kirk Show “ranked #7 on TheRighting’s top 20 list. Altogether, he recorded 3,054 episodes, a  huge body of work  His final interview with fellow podcaster superstar Ben Shapiro dropped the day before his murder. Worth noting: Kirk’s podcast  had 3.7 million YouTube followers, which is a huge potential audience....Final thought;  Silencing a voice from the right is the opposite of why TheRighting was created. It was the editors of the outlet that put LeBron's byline on the story, according to Breitbart...More shame on the execrably shameless Infowars.  The ultra-right outlet published an unedited video of the fatal mass transit stabbing in Charlotte, NC, of 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska.  (Purposely not including links to the video)...Mazel Tov! Oliver North, the  81-year-old Reagan-era national security aide at the heart of the Iran-Contra scandal and Fawn Hall, 66, his striking secretary from that era who helped him shred documents about the illegal operation, were secretly married last spring.  During Iran-Contra, the buzz was North and Hall were romantically involved. Still Ollie stayed married to his first wife Betsy of 56 years who passed away last November.
