TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! I found it noteworthy that Trump made the announcement about the apprehension of the alleged killer of  Charlie Kirk.  It points to Trump’s pathological need to take credit for any positive news, and a subtle dig at the much criticized FBI Director Kash Patel. The NY Times has a scathing takedown of Patel today.  The FBI director’s remarks at the press conference this morning announcing the successful end of the manhunt struck me as a rebuttal to the Times story where he repeatedly touted the speed and efficiency of his agency’s investigation...Low-profile Middle Tennesse State University (MTSU) has landed in the middle of two controversies. As The College Fix reports, it fired Assistant Dean laura Sosh-Lightsy after she posted a comment on Facebook saying she had “zero sympathy” for the murder of Charlie Kirk.  And Campus Reform published a story saying that official chat group of the MTSU College Democrats “appear to say ‘There is no reason to feel sorry’ for murdered Charlie Kirk.” However, the story went on to point out that the group denounces political violence and termed the assassination “reviling”...Echoing an oft-repeated phrase relating to the JFK assassination, this NewsBusters article asks, “Where were you when Charlie was shot?” “Like the JFK assassination, this brutal murder will not be forgotten, not for many years to come,” writes Brent Bozell, the founder of the right-wing watchdog group the Media Research  Council. “You just felt it yesterday. Something happened that pierced America's soul — deeply”...If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard

Shooting Kirk was meant to send a message to all of us. But we are not afraid – the message we send back is louder: freedom will not be silenced.

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

The nation at turning point:  Rhetoric that flooded across social media, cable news and other platforms almost immediately after the assassination of Charlie Kirk points to a disturbing truth. The nation is heading down a dark and ominous path.  The National Review said the quiet part out loud. “The murder of the Turning Point USA leader represents a shocking event that may herald a turn toward greater political violence in America,” the editors wrote. “God help us.” Most observers on the left and right would not dispute that sentiment and it represents my POV as well... Charlie Kirk was one of the most popular right-wing podcasters.  “The Charlie Kirk Show “ranked #7 on TheRighting’s top 20 list. Altogether, he recorded 3,054 episodes, a  huge body of work  His final interview with fellow podcaster superstar Ben Shapiro dropped the day before his murder. You can listen to all of his podcasts here. Worth noting: Kirk’s podcast  had 3.7 million YouTube followers, which is a huge potential audience....Final thought;  Silencing a voice from the right is the opposite of why TheRighting was created. September 17 marks its eighth anniversary and it purpose has never been more important: to alert mainstream audiences to news and opinion from the right. We may not often agree with opinions like those expressed by right-wing leaders like Charlie Kirk, but the point was always to keep our ears open and not close our hearts....If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Progressive Madness Killed Charlie Kirk

source: Fox News

To the Left, for much of the Democrat Party and much of the mainstream media, Charlie’s success was unforgivable. They spent over a decade painting him as a racist, a bigot, and finally as a real-life fascist. This is why Charlie Kirk is dead today.

By Kurt Schlichter: Our Constitution addresses how to deal with this situation. We have laws, and we control the federal law enforcement apparatus. We will turn its full weight against not only the perpetrators of this crime, but the people behind the web of subversion from the left.

Media Slimes Charlie Kirk After Death

Media narratives, when they’re not directly attacking Kirk, focus above all else on gun control, suggesting that Kirk’s support for the second amendment led to his death. The media truly is the enemy.

The Killing of Charlie Kirk Is an Attack on Free Speech Itself

How refreshing, in an age of shouting TV heads and vapid social-media posturing, that Charlie Kirk would go to any campus or auditorium to happily engage in lively conversation — without resorting to insults or mic-drop-ready applause lines.
