TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Trump wrote Jeffrey Epstein a bawdy note for the disgraced financier’s 50th birthday, according to last night’s much-anticipated Wall Street Journal article.  It’s certainly not a good look for POTUS, but it’s probably not a knockout punch.  The “Extra” tape with the “grab them by the pussy” soundbite was released just before the 2016 election and he still wound up in the White House. Accusations of sex with porn star Stormy Daniels didn’t derail his political career. Some factions of MAGA-world have turned on The Donald.  While Trump is once again revealed to be a sewer rat, I predict he  slithers out of this latest revelation...While the media industry braces for devastating funding cuts to PBS and NPR, another bomb landed on a legacy outlet last night. CBS abruptly  announced the end of  “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” next May. Hollywood in Toto swallowed the hard-to-believe corporate BS that the decision was “based on financial realities, not content or political pressure.” Yeah, right. I’m sure it had nothing to do with Colbert’s years of anti-Trump monologues and the impending sale of CBS that needs FCC approval....Medical condition of the week: chronic venous insufficiency (CVI). Trump’s afflicted with the mostly non-life-threatening disease, which the White House announced yesterday. Take a look at this image of Trump’s swollen ankle and you’ll understand the condition on the first bounce.  Worth noting: while CVI is generally not fatal, it’s  a progressive condition so it’s likely to get worse, not better. As a public service to President Trump, I’ve included a link to Amazon’s Best Shoes for Edema page.....Weekend Watch: HBO Max’s two-part documentary Billy Joel: And So It Goes, which debuts tonight.  I’m a longtime fan of the Piano Man, and after this week’s nonstop news, it promises to give my brain a much-needed wash and rinse....If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. How Many Voters Really Care About Jeffrey Epstein?

source: NY Post

President Trump’s approval rating among Republican voters actually went up this week, according to two separate polls. So whether or not the administration is right in its attitude towards the files, Trump himself is absolutely wise to look at his Twitter critics and say, “Oh yeah, you and whose online army?”

No Special Counsel for the Epstein Files

Trump is right to be skeptical. It would feed this frenzy for months.

The Epstein thing is unresolvable… but maybe we could ask Bill Gates what occurred on the island.

The Epstein Birthday Doodle and Trump

This is a lot of hippo poop. If Trump had had anything at all to do with Epstein in the last 20 years the Democrats wouldn’t have had to make shite up. This smells and makes no sense.

Why the Left Will Be the Ones Melting Down Over the WSJ’s Trump-Epstein Story

source: Townhall

The Wall Street Journal reported that Trump purportedly sent Epstein a 50th birthday card in 2003. It was “bawdy.”  It’s the Russian collusion hoax all over again. While the MAGA movement was splintered online over how the Trump administration handled the Epstein files, it quickly reunited since not even the most ardent Trump critic could stomach this piece of trash reporting.

The Left Is Desperate to Turn Epstein into a Trump Scandal

At this point, it’s painfully obvious what’s going on. The media’s desperate attempts to link Trump to Epstein aren’t based on facts—they’re based on fear. Fear of what might happen if the real truth about Epstein’s client list ever comes to light. Fear of who might be exposed.

Trump Can Fix This Mess That’s Ripping His Party Apart

source: NY Post

Trump is understandably infuriated that the Epstein business is soaking up so much attention, seeing he works from dawn to midnight fixing the disasters unleashed by Biden.

Happy Independence Day, NPR

By Uri Berliner: The Senate voted this morning to claw back $1.1 billion from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which provides funding for NPR, PBS, and local stations. The vote is a victory for Republicans who have long had NPR in their sights. But it is also a victory for those of any political stripe who believe the government has no business funding the media.

PBS and NPR Were Unfit for Purpose

Americans have a First Amendment right to say whatever they want — including via organized institutions (such as this one). They do not have a First Amendment right to receive federal funding while they do it.

CBS Will Cancel “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”

source: NewsBusters

Colbert was a leading voice for America’s religious left. He would call conservatives bad Christians on spending cuts and immigration while championing abortion and so-called “gender-affirming care.” He was the epitome of the downfall of late night comedy where the applauding of conservative misfortunes replaced wit or cleverness.

Jill Biden Dethroned as America’s “Lady MacBeth”

Cold. Cunning. In pursuit of power above all else. But enough speculation about former first lady Jill Biden. America has her new “Lady Macbeth” in Gisele Fetterman, wife of Democratic Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman. She’s just the latest Democrat to embarrass her apparently incapacitated husband in public fashion.

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings!  Word of the day: “Stupid.”  As in Donald Trump’s choice of adjective to describe denizens of MAGA Nation focused on Jeffrey Epstein conspiracy theories instead of concentrating on how wonderful his administration has been for our nation.  And yes, he did describe factions of his base as stupid (ABC News)...Where is the great woke novel, wonders Dominic Green of The Wall Street Journal?  Good point! “The raw material of history was everywhere,” opines Green. “Artists should have spent the past half-decade refining 2020’s historical dividend into the verities of art and royalty checks. We’re still waiting.” Where's the Norman Mailer of GenZ who's going to take a stab at this epic story and wind  up on the cover of New York Magazine? But who writes novels when you can cash in on social media (see next item)?...Following in grandpa’s footprints: The Donald’s 18-year-old granddaughter Kai Trump is getting into the marketing game, capitalizing on the Trump brand.  The eldest POTUS grandchild and daughter of Don Jr. just signed a deal with energy drink brand Accelerator Active Energy that gives her equity in the company.  A  social media maven with six million followers across three platforms, Kai is about to start her freshman year at  University of Miami, where she’s made the school golf team. Someone alert ESPN – I think I smell a good TV sporting event when she steps up to the tee in her first collegiate competition. (Yahoo Sports)....The “Butler” did it (and became #1):  The new non-fiction book, Butler, about last summer’s attempted assassination of Donald Trump at a Pennsylvania campaign rally, has landed atop the NY Times Best Sellers list. The tome by respected rightwing journo Salena Zito, may even be turned into a movie (Hollywood in Toto).... If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard

So while the Left had used their time in office to try to ban gas stoves, cows, and our ability to use factual pronouns, President Trump is now banning something that actually matters: chemicals in your food.

Trump Ends Rail Boondoggle

source: PJ Media

In 2008, California was dreaming of a 220-mile-per-hour, 'frisco to La train ride using clean energy. It turned into a taxpayer nightmare: A taxpayer-funded ghost train stuck in the dirt of the Central Valley. Trump just announced that Washington is done footing the bill. Politics didn't drive this decision. It was an act of mercy.
