TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Song of the day: 1960’s North to Alaska by Johnny Horton. Book of the day: Call of the Wild by the incomparable Jack London...Here’s looking at you, Anchorage: Check out the many live webcams of Anchorage to get a sense of Alaska’s biggest city. Great mountains. Meh architecture...MAGA-world is likely to embrace the new documentary “Generation Covid” – assuming it gets distribution. The trailer opens with this line that tells you immediately about its politics: “Western democracy has been replaced by a bio-security police state.” Vaccine-denier RFK, Jr., could be a fan....And speaking of the Secretary of Health and Human Services, Politico dropped a wince-inducing article last night about RFK’s somewhat plausible bid to run for the Oval Office in 2028... It’s over.  Ashley Biden, Joe Biden’s 44-year-old daughter, filed for divorce from her husband plastic surgeon Howard Kren.  They got hitched in 2012. (Fox News)...Sports news: Those bullies at The Daily Caller completed an undefeated summer softball season after thrashing the jocks at the Roosevelt Institute, a liberal think tank, 14-3. I wonder if the Caller team only uses right-handed pitching.  (Daily Caller)...Weekend Watch: On Saturday night, be sure to catch CNN’s Part 2 of American Prince: JFK Jr. It alludes many times to the elegance, sophistication and class of the Kennedy White House.  It’s no wonder that the Kennedy Arts Center for the Performing Arts is named after the 35th president...Weekend Wander: You’ll find me fishing along the western portions of Long Island’s South Oyster Bay where the fluke have been biting this month.  I’m easy to spot. I’m sure I’m the only fisherman there who’s reading a Kindle and browsing the Washington Post on an iPhone when the bite gets slow...If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard

Trump’s the Hero Hollywood Needs

source: American Thinker

Will Hollywood ever make an honest movie about President Trump? Probably not, but then again, who thought that MAGA Americans would be winning the culture war in 2025? Like any good film, the bad guys have to look invincible before the good guys fight and win.

Leftists Cook Up New Reason to Hate Men

source: Daily Caller

Men who make a show of their support for liberal causes are annoying. Effeminate men are annoying. They deserve criticism for those reasons. They do not deserve criticism for failing to meet the ever-changing standards of the feminist braintrust. Liberal women want a man that is, in all ways but one, a woman.

Bumbling Obama Aides Admit Russiagate Was a Smear Campaign Against Trump

source: NY Post

The declassified documents tumbling out of Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard’s files show that, while they had a lot of power, President Barack Obama’s henchmen were none too bright.

Will Obama Get a Free Pass on Russiagate Because of Presidential Immunity?

source: Victory Girls

We used that America doesn’t have the stomach to indict a former president. Well, that excuse is gone. We’ve done it. Questions about Obama’s presidential immunity are now on the table, and Trump’s name is in the history books as the first former U.S. president to be hit with criminal charges. Which means Obama might not be sleeping quite as soundly these days.

Return of Columbus Statue Might Mean the End of Woke

source: Daily Signal

The effect of wokeness may be fading in Ohio’s capital city. Years after the Christopher Columbus statue was removed in Columbus in 2020 during the height of Black Lives Matter protests, there are plans to restore the statue to public prominence.

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Get ready for the anti-Communist film festival that will likely land in DC next fall.  Hollywood in Toto reveals that the event is taking shape “at the perfect time.” Funds are still being raised by organizer and journalist Mark Judge, who is reaching out via social media to luminaries like James Woods, JD Vance and Ann Coulter for support so that he can rent a theater.  Movies slated to be screened include “Dr. Zhivago,” “Red Dawn,” “The Year of Living Dangerously” and “The Lives of Others.” Wonder if Trump will offer The Kennedy Center...On Tuesday, I linked to an essay by writer Arthur E. Sowers who expressed fears about the possibility of Trump renaming the country.  That prompted another Righting subscriber Mark Scheerer to suggest that Trump might call America Trumpistan. Here’s my idea: maybe he’ll rename it Trance.  That uses the first two letters of his last name.  It also subtly conjures the over-the-top elegance of France’s Palace of Versailles which aligns with Trump’s garish tastes. And the name also reflects the mental state of Senate and House Republicans as they mindlessly allow Trump to operate without any guardrails whatsoever...The Federalist reports that earlier this week their office in a posh part of DC was essentially blockaded by “drunk, belligerent vagrants”...The White House Wire included a link from the Wall Street Journal in yesterday’s post. That’s the first time since June they’ve linked to the Journal and it may signal tensions between two camps are subsiding....If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard

KISS Nod Shows Trump’s Kennedy Center Knows Rock Better Than Rock Hall of Fame

source: Outkick

After getting snubbed by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for decades, it's nice to see the Trump-era Kennedy Center saluting KISS right off the bat. Because with this decision, the president has done the unthinkable. He has proven that he knows rock better than the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Kennedy Center Honors for 2025 Announced by Trump

The Elites are still trying to figure out how the barbarians got through the gates. The MAGA crowd is humming “All My Exes Live In Texas” because the wonderful George Strait is being honored. The winning continues.

Democrats decry “destroying democracy” while dismantling long-standing institutions, weaponizing agencies, and undermining the very systems they claim to defend.
