
The No Kings demonstrations held October 18, 2025, attracted roughly seven million protestors around the country. Subscriber Sandi Kurtz reports that residents of the city were celebrating Octoberfest as well as No Kings and that the combination “was charming. Dirndls and Democracy.”
Vancouver, WA

Polish-American author Sonya Zalubowski sports a tee shirt from Poland’s solidarity movement in the No Kings protest along with neighbor Linda Rose who provided the sign. She reports that roughly 11000 people took part, frolicking in the sunshine and friendly vibe.
Minneapolis, MN

The rally included a 10-block march through the city, reports Catherine Chayka. “When the beginning of the line reached the finish line, the end of the line had hardly moved forward, which should give you a sense of the crowd size,” she says.
Grand Haven, MI

Roughly 1,200 protestors demonstrated in this small town on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan, due west of Grand Rapids. Subscriber Field Reichardt reports that “one ‘gentleman’ drove down the street with his middle finger lifted yelling, ‘You libs need to get mental health help.'” Reichardt is a former west Michigan Republican leader.

Determined protestor Jeff Gustafson, who had plans October 18 that he couldn’t change, nonetheless attached a No Kings sign to his backpack and took it on the road. Here he is outside of what appears to be the airport in Santa Barbara, CA. He claims he went through six airports in his journey (seems like he may need a new travel agent). “I got many thumbs up and positive comments,” he recalls. “It was a good day.”
