For the Fifth Straight Month, Foxnews.com Scores Double-Digit Traffic Increases

May 22,  2023, New York, NY – Foxnews.com experienced a 31% surge in year-over-year (YOY) traffic in April, according to TheRighting’s exclusive analysis of mobile and desktop traffic based on Comscore data.  It was the fifth straight month of double-digit traffic gains for the site.  The conservative digital powerhouse attracted almost 92 million unique visitors, up 21 million from April 2022.

The Foxnews.com growth was part of a broader trend of right wing news websites increasing their traffic in April.  More than half of the news outlets in TheRighting’s April top 20 had a monthly gain in unique visitors.

“The dramatic news environment last month helped contribute to the rise in traffic to right wing news websites,” said Howard Polskin, President and Chief Curator, TheRighting.   “News detrimental to the Foxnews.com brand in April like the sudden departure of Tucker Carlson and the settlement of the Dominion lawsuit, had little impact on its ability to attract more visitors.  Furthermore, other right wing websites appeared to benefit from their coverage of the Fox upheaval as well as the Dylan Mulvaney/Bud Light controversy and the start of the Donald J. Trump sexual assault trial.”

Polskin also noted that the redesign of the Foxnews.com homepage earlier this year with more non-hard-news coverage, and larger headlines and images may have also been a factor in its audience gains.
