Traffic to Most Major Conservative Websites Sags in May

Unique Visitors at DonaldJTrump.com Drop 72%

June 29,  2021, New York, NY – For the fourth straight month, year-over-year (YOY) unique visitors to the top conservative websites decreased, according to TheRighting’s exclusive analysis of May 2021 mobile and desktop traffic based on Comscore data.  TheRighting found that only two of the top 20 conservative websites grew YOY audiences in May. Foxnews.com led all right-wing websites with 78,867,000 unique visitors, but was down 28% from May 2020.

The website of the former president, DonaldJTrump.com, saw a steep YOY decline in unique visitors of 72%, despite the May 4 launch of the blog “From the Desk of Donald J. Trump,” which folded a month later.  “I expected to see much stronger traffic considering the fanfare which greeted the debut of the blog on Mr. Trump’s site,” said Howard Polskin, President and Curator, TheRighting.  “His drooping audience reflects the overall softness in the news environment, but it may also indicate a rising level of Trump fatigue. Either he’s losing his grip on the country or his website is a poor channel for him to convey his messages.”

Only two right-wing websites in TheRighting top 20 chart saw traffic gains in May. Conservative-friendly social media sites also experienced sharp YOY traffic improvements led by Parler, which was up 405%.
