TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings!  In the aftermath of Joe Biden withdrawing from the presidential race, Kamala Harris becomes Public Enemy No. 1 of right wing media. As a  powerful woman of color, she’s long been a prime target of racist and misogynistic barbs from MAGA world and its media, and those attacks will only become more venomous as Kamala works to secure her party’s nomination….Time machine: On March 31, 1968 President Lyndon Johnson announced that he would not seek reelection. That opened the door for Richard Nixon to win the White House and led to one of the darkest chapters in American history with Watergate.  Here’s the 90-second video of Johnson’s historic announcement. To put our current head-spinning situation in perspective, weeks after LBJ’s exit from the race, Martin Luther King Jr. was murdered in Memphis. Two months later, Robert F. Kennedy was felled by another assassin’s bullet just after winning the California Democratic primary.  Later that summer, Dems  held their national convention in Chicago, which was roiled by anti-war protests in the streets that were met with unbridled police violence. A  case could be made that the country was even more dysfunctional in 1968 then it is now…It’s a good summer to be in the cable news biz.  Traditionally, ratings for all  news networks drop in the summer, especially on the weekends. Consecutive news bombshell over the past two weekends – the Trump  assassination attempt  and Biden’s exit from the race – have bolstered tepid weekend ratings. What will the last weekend in July bring?…If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard

“We Love You, Joe!” Says the Mob That Was Previously Marching Towards Biden with Pitchforks

Democrats from every corner of the political arena are now tripping over themselves to sing his praises after weeks of bullying him to step down from running against Orange Man Bad.

Dems “Rigged” Primary for Biden Only to Push Him Out

source: Breitbart

Biden is stepping aside as the presumptive Democrat nominee after his party helped ensure he staved off a real primary challenge, effectively disenfranchising voters across the Democrat base.

Kamala Lied to the Country About Biden’s Condition

source: Washington Examiner

Kamala Harris will almost certainly become the Democratic nominee now that Biden has announced he is withdrawing from the race. That makes the fact that she lied to the public about Biden’s condition all the more galling.

Meet the New Boss, Same as the Old Boss

source: Blaze Media

Democrats have plenty of problems, but they’re working through them. The party solved the Biden problem Sunday when he announced he would decline the party’s nomination for president. They haven’t gotten any closer to solving the election problem.  Biden basically booby-trapped the gift box, and the assassination attempt on Donald Trump put a bow on it.

Now They Say Trump Is Too Old

With Trump in the lead and Biden down, academics are suddenly worried about the age of American presidents.

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings!  Wanna inside peek into Tucker Carlson’s Maine compound?  Then read the Wall Street Journal’s piece that  features a tour of the fallen Fox News host’s remote  home.  The WSJ’s Bojan Pancevski reveals that Carlson’s favorite band is the Grateful Dead, he wears Birkenstocks and he wakes up every morning and greets  his wife of 33 years by declaring; “I can’t wait to have sex with you”…I caught the last part of Carlson’s RNC speech last night on Fox. While I deplore his politics, I must admit the dude knows how to connect to viewers with a broad smile and a devilish twinkle in his eye.…In contrast, Eric Trump’s speech was much darker than Carlson’s, yet polished and well-delivered …The best speech of the convention may have been delivered by The Donald’s 17-year-old granddaughter Kai Trump, daughter of Don Jr.  The RNC could have done with more Kai and less Hulk Hogan, Kid Rock and UFC’s Dana White, who helped turn the evening into a bit of a clown show…Meanwhile, Trump appeared weary, his face sweaty and shiny, as he delivered  the longest nomination acceptance speech in history. The Wall Street Journal praised the first part of his speech when he described getting shot, but characterized the rest of his endless presentation as a “rambling, indulgent stump speech.” The National Review concurs as do I…And finally, RIP Lou Dobbs, my former boss and colleague, who unfortunately took a sharp turn to the hard right this century tarnishing his reputation as a celebrated cable news pioneer…If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Who Green-Lit the Trump Shooting?

source: FrontPage

Even as Secret Service snipers on the roof near Trump saw the gunman, security took no action either to neutralize the threat or remove him from the stage to safety. It's becoming increasingly difficult to see this as a just a series of bumbling errors. On the contrary, they begin to resemble a deliberate plan to render Trump vulnerable while appearing to be mistakes.

Can We Trust Investigation on Attempt on Trump’s Life?

People wonder how an armed 20-year-old was able to install himself within shooting range of Trump, despite Secret Service protection.

The One Thing Trump Barely Mentioned Says It All

source: Blaze Media

Trump only named his campaign opponent a single time during his Thursday-night speech. In fact, Biden barely appeared at all in any of the dozen-plus speeches given on the RNC's final night. The decision makes sense on the surface. Trump might not even be running against Biden in November.

The RNC Is a Trumpian Triumph

By Peggy Noonan: A movement that was a joke nine years ago is a party now. Its members are certain they will win.

Why Did Trump Gave a Bad Speech?

source: The American Conservative

If Biden can’t speak for fifteen minutes without mangling names and slurring his words, Trump can’t discipline himself to get his point across in less than an hour. Democrats who had been feeling hopeless heard Trump and, for the first time in weeks, thought he could be beaten, maybe not by Biden but by someone under 70 with an average amount of political talent.

Are Trump Scandals Just Endless Hours of Noise?

source: NewsBusters

Year after year, partisan “legacy media” outlets have churned out thousands of stories full of anticipation that the walls of scandal would close in on Trump. Once again, a litany of Trump “legal woes” haven’t damaged his political standing.

The Election May Already Be Over

Trump may well have sealed the outcome of the 2024 election with a performance on Thursday night in Milwaukee that has largely been unmatched in recent American political history.

Can Democrats Defeat an Actual Legend?

The assassination attempt on former president Donald J. Trump has rapidly reached a level in the global culture that few things ever do.

Weekend at Biden’s

Biden’s wife covers for him 24/7. Without such aid, his lapses would appear even worse. How many times did Melania Trump have to cover for Donald Trump in his four years? You guessed it, never

It’s Gross for the Biden Campaign to Use His Covid Diagnosis as Clickbait

source: NY Post

“I’m sick,” read a cryptic tweet posted to Biden’s X account Wednesday night, causing chaos and speculation.   While almost 150 million people saw that tweet, just 19 million saw the follow-up tweet within the thread, which let on that the whole thing was just a tacky attempt to solicit donations.
