TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings!  The optics were all  wrong at Tuesday’s Elon Musk/DonaldTrump Oval Office presser. It’s taken me a day-and-a-half to get my head around it. Musk dissed the public, the media and even POTUS  by parading his son for the cameras like the four-year-old was some half-trained puppy seal. Obviously, the nation’s de facto COO believes it’s a savvy political move to have a preschooler on hand to discuss draconian cuts to the federal budget that is already putting people on the street and causing other easily avoidable pain to people here and abroad. (RedState wrote that the child, one of twelve spawn, was an important prop because it showed that the richest man in the world was pro-life. The stunt was deemed “heartwarming.”)  Musk’s super casual attire with his Silicon Valley meets Sunset Strip slovenly black t-shirt, jacket and slacks disrespected the American people and the near-sanctity of the Oval Office where consequential decisions that shape the destiny of the country and world get decided. The whole bro show appeared to be deliberately designed to show that the gazillionaire plays by his own rules, as if we didn’t already know…Vanity Fair seems to be playing matchmaker for Barron Trump, the  eligible NY University freshman. In a profile of The Donald’s youngest child, Vanity Fair cites a December Daily Mail piece that suggested fellow NYU student Maria Arana, whom the Mail called a “MAGA blonde,” could be a suitable match for business major Baron. Other possible romantic partners attending NYU in the photo-filled Mail article include Matt Damon’s daughter Isabella, and Sean “Diddy” Combs daughter Chance…If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Trump is president, they seemed to say, and the era of inclusivity in the NFL is over”…American Spectator says don’t incinerate USAID.
