Last night’s Academy Award ceremony was almost free of direct digs about Donald Trump’s maniacal first five weeks as MAGA-in-Chief.  Still, Oscar host Conan O’Brien couldn’t resist noting that Best Picture winner “Anora,” centered around a young Brooklyn woman clashing with her Moscow oligarch’s in-laws, was having a good night because “Americans are excited to see someone stand up to a powerful Russian”…Robert R. Kennedy Jr.  wrote a tepid opinion piece for Foxnews.com regarding a deadly measles outbreak among the unvaccinated in Texas and New Mexico. Trump’s Health & Human Services honcho calls for the availability of vaccines “for those who want them” and suggested parents talk to their health care providers to better understand what  options are open to them.  However, he stopped short of calling for all parents to have  their children vaccinated…John Fetterman for president! On Friday night’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher revealed the sartorially-challenged Pennsylvania Senator should be the Dem’s  choice for a 2028 White House run.  “Fetterman says the four words that strike fear in the heart of every Republican that wants to hang onto power: ‘I am not woke,’” Maher explained. Here’s the video…Meanwhile,  Andrew Cuomo, who was forced to resign in disgrace as governor of New York, has just announced he’s running for mayor of NYC. Scott Jennings, CNN’s polarizing right-wing commentator, is one of the prominent names being floated as a possible successor to long-standing GOP Republican Senator Mitch McConnell, per RedState.  The outlet said the choice “would be sure to rev conservative engines”…Here’s the most obnoxious right wing headline of the day, courtesy of SteveGruber.com: “Trump will be checking on the gold at Fort Knox to see if the Democrats absconded with it”… In no uncertain terms, the conservative editorial page of the NY Post is urging RFK Jr. to go to the measles-stricken area of Texas to prove that the vaccine for the deadly disease is safe.  “Go to Texas, Mr. Secretary, and preach the truth as only a convert can,” the editors wrote. “This vaccine is safe, and getting children jabbed is an act of love”… It looks like Trump is romancing hockey great Wayne Gretsky for support, according to his Truth Social post last night.  After calling him a “great guy,” he suggested he could run for any office in Canada and win.  In the same post, he once again referred to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as “Governor Trudeau.” Awful diss of a powerful ally…Weekend Watch: Out of habit, I’m going to say the Oscars, which will be broadcast or streamed or whatever live Sunday.  But I’m starting to feel that most people don’t give a hoot about the winners and losers.  The biggest drama for me will be whether some stars will deliver pro-woke or anti-Trump messages.
