TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Word of the week: recession….The Wall Street Journal must agree. The outlet’s lead editorial asks, Will There be a Recession? My answer: look at your retirement accounts, my fellow Americans. However, WND advises its readers that the current stock market plunge represents a buying opportunity.  “Always bet on Trump,” says columnist Wayne Allyn Root…Donald Trump’s hit reality television show “The Apprentice,” NBC’s long-running program which debuted in 2004, is now available on Amazon Prime Video, according to the Associated Press. I confess that I never saw a single episode and I may watch a few shows to see what all the fuss is about. However, on a flight out to Dallas this weekend, I viewed the theatrical movie The Apprentice, which looked at young Trump’s relationship with reptilian lawyer Roy Cohn played to chilling  perfection by Jeremy Strong.  I give it a soft recommendation. On my flight back to New York this afternoon, I intend to see the movie Reagan starring Dennis Quaid as the conservative icon. Stay tuned for my one-sentence review…A Fox News op-ed came out against cutting NIH funding.  Two prominent doctors wrote that the cutbacks represent a surrender to disease.  “Among the many things that make America exceptional is our proud legacy of scientific research and discovery,” opined Drs. Theodore DeWeese and Robert Harrington. “Thanks to research funded by the National Institutes of Health, 90% of the children diagnosed this year with the most common form of leukemia will go on to be cured”…90s sitcom star Justine Batemen trashes Hollywood’s DEI quotas as “an insult to filmmaking,” according to Hollywood in Toto…If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting.  Howard

European Progressives Need Understand That “American First” Is Here to Stay

America will no longer play the world’s policeman, nor will it keep paying for wars and peacekeeping efforts that don’t directly serve its interests.

The Resistance Sequel Flops

source: American Greatness

The first #Resistance produced Inauguration Day riots; the largest single-day protest in history; the rise of Antifa; the explosion of left-wing grassroots organizations—albeit funded by the usual billionaire suspects—and the “In This Yard” sign, “the epitome of virtue signaling.”

We Have Four Years to Make Sure 2020 Never Happens Again

source: The Federalist

2020 taught us that most of our public officials are feckless hirelings who’d throw your grandma into isolation to die, not sword-wielding warriors who stand guard fearlessly against rabid wolves. It taught us leftist conspiracy theorists ran our country, and they can trot out regime-change street rioters to get their way.

On Transgender Issues, Gavin Newsom Is No Moderate

source: National Review

Housing male inmates in women’s prisons and jails — which he has supported — is a nightmarish transgender policy.

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Phrase of the week: tariff whiplash…It’s becoming more apparent to me that Rep. Al Green (D-TX) did reputational harm to the Democrats with his incoherent outburst at Trump’s Tuesday night speech.  For at least the next several days, he is now one of the faces of the Democratic party…NewsBusters shades HBO’s hit series “White Lotus” for last Sunday’s episode where one of the female characters admitted to her horrified two friends that her husband voted for Trump and that she goes to church every Sunday.  “The intent feels clear,” concluded writer Dawn Slusher, “a ‘scathing dig’ at Trump and a shaming of his voters, especially women.” IMHO, I though the scene was a realistic portrayal of a real-life situation that many of us may have encountered…Influential right wing author Douglas Murray believes MAGA is wrong about Ukraine, according to an article he wrote for the UK’s Spectator…. AMAC, the conservative alternative to AARP, argues that Maine is now a bellwether for how the nation is leaning politically.  And it’s moving to the right…This will only antagonize the right:  Texas A&M University is under fire from a Democrat-led campaign to compel the school to reinstate drag shows on the campus. My two cents: this is a stupid issue and Dems shouldn’t waste political capital on it.  Furthermore, it creates the perception that Dems are the party of drag shows, which is a losing political proposition.  And it gives Trump and his minions a talking point to bludgeon the Democrats. (Daily Caller)…In today’s news roundup, there are two stories with the same headline that reflects the sad truth of March 2025: “Dems in Disarray,” courtesy of the Daily Signal and SteveGruber.com… I’m taking a personal day on Monday. Back at you Tuesday…If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard

Do not let the protesters’ noise drown out the voices of hardworking taxpayers. This is the message for President Trump and everyone who voted for him in November.

Trump Has No Meaningful Opposition

source: Human Events

While Trump had many sarcastic barbs for the government’s wasted money Tuesday night, he kept jibes at the expense of the opposing party mostly in reserve, though at one point he did point out that the Democrats wouldn’t applaud, even if he cured a life-threatening disease.

The Dems in Disarray

source: Daily Signal

Their leadership class is utterly exhausted. Rep. Nancy Pelosi was at the address; she looked simultaneously bored and lost. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries seemed confused and bemused. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer disappeared into the wallpaper.

Dems in Disarray

source: SteveGruber.com

Democrats have no backbone, no heart, no message, and no leader. They refuse to stand for American heroes. They celebrate foreign conflicts over domestic priorities. And their response to losing power? Throwing a tantrum while America moves forward without them.

Cleaning Up Biden’s Bird Flu Mess Fails to Trump
