TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings!  Word of the day: Yippy (NY Post).  Before yesterday, I had no idea it could be used describing how investors felt about an unstable stock market...Trump has become the Wall Street Journal’s whipping boy thanks to his unhinged tariff policies. The WSJ said the president blinked on tariffs by announcing a 90-day pause for most countries.  But the editorial board didn’t stop there.  “Never bet against America, it’s said, and normally global investors don’t want to,” the editors wrote.  “It’s a sign of the magnitude of Mr. Trump’s tariff mistake that he’s goading them into doing so. He needs a policy reversal, not a pause”…Washington Free Beacon writer Aaron Shibarium will appear on a panel at Yale April 15 about conservative media and higher education. “Bridging the Divide: Trust in Higher Education and Media Through the Conservative Lens” will also feature Robert Shibley, executive director of FIRE and Jonah Goldberg, editor in chief of The Dispatch (Free Beacon)…With unrestrained glee, The Daily Caller points out that the Kennedy Center’s March 29 program “Earth to Space: Arts Breaking the Sky” fireworks display drew 11,000 attendees, a record for the Center.  “With a focus on shifting away from politically-charged programming, the facility experienced tremendous success with a widely-attended fireworks show,” notes The Daily Caller… Trump announced earlier this week on Truth Social that he’s getting his annual physical tomorrow at Walter Reed hospital. The Washington Examiner correctly points out that his cognitive tests “loom large.” He turns 80 in just under 15 months.  Just sayin’…If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard

Corey Booker Is an Attention Seeker

source: American Thinker

Did Booker's display make the lives of New Jerseyans better or safer or improve Democrat poll numbers? No! The goal for Booker was to elevate himself. This display could enable Booker to close a deal for a book, podcast, or documentary. Perhaps his speaking fees will be hiked.

Maine Governor Mills Is Picking a Fight She Can’t Win

source: Conservative View from NH

Like the Biden administration on the border, she opened Maine’s doors to thousands of illegals in the name of cheap labor. She has destroyed the affordable housing market with the same group. She has turned the state into an abortion and transgender sanctuary for the adolescents of the country.

Christianity Showing Signs of Rebounding in America

source: Daily Signal

The majority of younger Americans are now non-Christian, and the proportion of young Christians has fallen significantly in the past 10 years. However, Covid-19 seems to have disrupted this trend of decline among young people somewhat.

White House Refuses to Respond to Emails from Reporters with Pronouns in Their Signatures

source: 100 Percent Fed Up

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt explained that “as a matter of policy” she will not “respond to people who use pronouns in their signatures as it shows they ignore scientific realities and therefore ignore facts.” Right on, Karoline.

Usha Vance Is Humble, Intriguing and Classy

Usha Vance does not get the credit for being the wildly intelligent, enigmatic woman that she is. A Yale grad. A wife, a mother. Accomplished. Poised.

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Skunk fight! Elon Musk and Trump tariff architect Peter Navarro are battling publicly and that ain’t good for Trumpworld.  Press secretary Karoline Leavitt tried brushing it off as “boys will be boys.”  I am no fan of Leavitt, but I would never call her stupid. However, this was a stupid phrase that minimizes a serious administration rupture with grave consequences for the global economy and our wallets.  The Wall Street Journal has a much more informed take on the battle of MAGA heavyweights and comes down favoring Elon Musk.  “He isn’t a flunky whom Mr. Trump can consign to oblivion by firing, and he’s saying things the President ought to hear,” the WSJ’s editorial board opines. “He represents the aspirational wing of MAGA-land that is the best part of Trumponomics”…American Spectator and City Journal have joined the growing chorus of conservative media outlets against Trump’s destructive tariff policies.  “Trump’s goal of reciprocal trade is a false promise, based neither on economic laws nor market reality,” wrote Spectator authors Bob Luddy and Michael Romero.  “His arbitrary tariffs are causing an immediate meltdown of the world’s financial markets and a loss of confidence in the American government.” City Journal’s Brian Albrecht points out that tariffs didn’t ignite American economic growth in the 19th century and they won’t today either…And finally, for all the fans of the just-concluded brilliant third season of HBO’s “White Lotus,” a Washington Examiner writer explains that the show has a surprising “conservative heart” because of its emphasis on the value of family. Hadn't considered that point…If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard

Trump Stacks Wins as Commies Weep into Their Soy Lattes

source: PJ Media

One would think booting illegal immigrants who are members of a violent gang out of the country would be a no-brainer, but no-brain, communist judges believed otherwise, until the Supreme Court ruled that Trump can indeed boot the invaders under the Alien Enemies Act of 1796.

Trump as a Modern-Day Biblical Champion

They threw everything at him: impeachment, raids, lawfare. Yet here he stands, stronger than ever. His battles, his resilience, and his unshakable confidence evoke biblical champions who defied expectation.

Bet on America. Bet on Trump

source: Townhall

Trump continues to deliver on his campaign promises and holds firm to his vision for an American future we can be proud of. While many in the media and on Wall Street are shouting that the sky is falling, there are ample reasons to be optimistic that Trump is right.

American Farmers Have a Voice in Washington Again

source: Fox News

By Brooke Rollins: In my 50 days as USDA secretary, I’ve become convinced American farmers, ranchers, and producers have been some of the hardest hit by failed policies and a lack of leadership from Washington over the last four years. That’s why President Trump and I are fighting every day for farmers so that American agriculture will be prosperous for generations to come.

House Dem More Supportive of Trump Tariffs Than Many Republicans

source: Daily Caller

One of the biggest Congressional champions of President Donald Trump’s tariff policy hails from the Democratic Party. Rep. Jared Golden of Maine, who has consistently won reelection in a district Trump carried in 2024, is emerging as one of the most ardent defenders of the administration’s recent tariffs.

Wall Street Needs to Get a Grip on Trump’s Tariffs

source: NY Post

Wall Street hates uncertainty and change. It’s the nature of these markets: Fear, uncertainty and doubt drive them. And Trump loves these things, particularly as negotiating tools. So it is not a surprise for the two to clash — but Wall Street has no monopoly on the right policy.

Dems Were for Tariffs Before They Were Against Them

They’re not born-again free-traders, they’re born-again traitors.

Globalists Brought Trump’s Trade Revolution on Themselves

source: National Review

Trump’s tariffs are the wrong reaction, but too many of those attacking them are unwilling to admit there are grave flaws in the international trade regime.

Black Monday Blues and Red-Hot Resolve

Many Democrats are deeply disappointed. Wall Street didn’t go full Chernobyl to start the week—and that’s a bummer, apparently. The rest of us? We’re cheering for America.
