TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings. Trump went after CNN last night in a vicious Truth Social post, apparently triggered by the network’s reporting that cast doubt about the severity of damage at Iranian nuclear sites.  “Fake news CNN is so disgusting and incompetent,” he rage-tweeted. “Some of the dumbest anchors in the business.” Worth noting: In the administration’s daily roundup aggregating news stories supporting the Trumpian POV, the White House has twice this month linked to CNN reports. That means the administration only believes CNN when it’s positive news...This morning, Pete "Hair Gel" Hegseth scolded news outlets that voiced skepticism about the effectiveness of the weekend bombing campaign.  Here’s the 42-minute video of the press conference where SecDef displays his trademark hot-headed demeanor. He even blasted Fox News’ national security correspondent Jennifer Griffin (RedState)...Worth noting: “Truth is the first casualty of war.” Those wise words may have been written in 550 BC by the Greek dramatist Aeschylus, according to the Society of Editors.  If you want to know more about how truth gets marginalized during times of military conflict, I suggest you read the book The First Casualty...The Steve Forbes-backed website Unleash Prosperity predicts New Jersey grocery stores are set to boom.  That’s because New Yorkers will visit nearby towns like Hoboken after Zohran Mamdani (if he gets elected in November) nationalizes bodegas and destroys the grocery store supply chain...Just published: Sen. Lisa Murkowski’s (R-AK) nonfiction book Far from Home.  The moderate senator from our northern-most state writes about the polarized atmosphere in the nation’s capital where she has often taken stands in opposition to her party...If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Perhaps it was a protest vote against Cuomo the COVID Killer, so there may still be hope for the November election—but New Yorkers need to be smart.

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings from California! I’m a long way from my hometown of New York which got rocked by a political earthquake last night. Looks like the right has a new villain in Zohran Mamdani, the progressive 33-year-old Queens Assemblyman who won yesterday’s Democratic mayoral primary in NYC.  The National Review has published five articles today critical of the election results and many more right-wing outlets are also negative about the outcome. The Washington Examiner takes the prize for the most creative headline: “The Barista Proletariat Wins in NY”...Once again, The American Conservative rains on Trump’s victory-over-Iran parade.  “This war isn’t over,” crows the latest headline...There’s a petition circulating asking President Trump to cancel Pride Month.  If you sign it, the organizers say they will send you a free “This Is My Pride T-Shirt.” Under those words is an American flag. Curious to see if this picks up any steam...Yesterday, Trump dropped an epic 264-word rant on Truth Social about AOC. He just can’t stand it when a powerful woman of color stands up to him. (She called for his impeachment.) He labeled her – and not for the first time – one of the “dumbest people in Congress.” Furthermore, he wrote, “Alexandria should go back home to Queens, where I was also brought up, and straighten out her filthy, disgusting, crime ridden streets, in the District she represents, and which she never goes to anymore.” And in an extra dose of meanness, Trump also insulted Rep. Ilhan Omar, Rep. Jasmine Crockett and Sen. Chuck Schumer...Who or what is the greatest enemy of Western culture? It’s Netflix, according to the European Conservative. Here’s why...If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard

Emily Ratajkowski Endorsement Says All You Need You Need to Know About Democrats

source: Daily Caller

Ratajkowski’s endorsement of Mamdani is like the Democratic Party in a nutshell: here come the rich, white-collar professionals and celebrities supporting radical policies that will ruin the lives of the very people they claim to represent and fight for. And it points to the other part of the equation: the centrists like Cuomo are lazy and lack ideas.

source: NewsBusters

CNN published an article of debatable accuracy alleging that Saturday’s B-2 strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities were not as successful as Trump claimed. However, CBS’s Stephen Colbert wasn’t interested in the nuances of underground nuclear facility bomb damage assessment on The Late Show because if he was, he would not have been able to do his MC Hammer dance in response.

For Gen Z, with many of us too young to remember a time when America wasn’t at war, it’s personal. We were raised in a post-9/11 world. We watched classmates write letters to parents deployed overseas. We heard stories of brothers, cousins, and neighbors lost in battles half a world away.

Trump Obliterates, Blinken Hyperventilates

When faced with evil, Antony Blinken hosted symposiums. When confronted by aggression, he scheduled Zoom calls. When enemies needed to be deterred, he drafted statements “expressing concern.” And the results were exactly what you’d expect. The Middle East in flames. Europe in chaos. American influence slipping like sand through fingers.
