TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Today marks the 250th anniversary of Paul Revere’s ride warning the colonists of an imminent attack by British troops. To learn more, read this book: The Ride: Paul Revere and the Night That Saved America (great title, BTW)…Apparently, there’s an even dumber idea than tariffs.  So states the sober-minded Wall Street Journal.  Here’s what the WSJ’s editorial board member Joseph Sternberg had to say: “This newspaper’s editorial columns a couple of months ago branded President Trump’s tariffs on Canadian and Mexican imports ‘the dumbest trade war in history.’ Alas, my colleagues and I might have spoken too soon. A much, much dumber one is lurking just around the corner: an export tariff on U.S. Treasurys”…The Victory Girls blog is the latest media outlet to name AOC as the Dem front-runner in 2028.  “The fangirls of both sexes swooning over AOC love her style and care little for substance,” writes Darleen Click. “This is an election we can easily lose. Don’t get cocky”…Joe Biden snuck into Harvard Wednesday and spoke to a class of 50 students at the Harvard Kennedy School in a non-publicized appearance.  All went according to plan until he referred to Ukraine as Iraq.  After the discussion, he tried to enjoy an ice cream bar but “the partially melted dessert fell to the floor.” (Harvard Crimson)…Weekend Watch: After two episodes, I’m hooked on the Apple+ light-hearted drama Your Friends & Neighbors. The always entertaining Jon Hamm stars as a fallen finance big shot who resorts to stealing from his rich neighbors in a tony Manhattan suburb.  Sharp writing and good real estate porn elevate this romp, and make it an enjoyable diversion from the news…If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. E Pluribus Loot’ em

source: Ann Coulter

It’s understandable that Democrats are fuming about Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency ferreting out waste, fraud and abuse, inasmuch as the people committing the waste, fraud and abuse are their constituents. What I can’t understand is why they’re saying so out loud.

California Needs a DOGE

Taxpayers are footing the bill for a state government that disregards obvious waste and fraud.

Dems’ Bizarrely Misplaced Empathy

source: WND

By Ben Shapiro: This week, Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., went to El Salvador to visit Abrego Garcia and other Dems vowed to do the same. In their telling, Abrego Garcia is an innocent caught up in the mills of wrongheaded justice. But Abrego Garcia is indeed a nefarious character.

Did the NY Times Just Call for a Communist Revolution?

source: PJ Media

But this David Brooks proposal is next-level sinister. Even in the smokiest of the smoke-filled rooms at the DNC (and that ain’t tobacco smoke!), opting for a national uprising and full-bore communist revolution is one helluva liberal moonshot.

Defunding PBS and NPR Is Long Overdue

source: National Review

After Republicans have talked about it for so long with no effect, succeeding would be a nice feather in the administration’s hat.

Climate Zealots Are Always Wrong, But Never Admit It

The alarmists never apologize. When doom doesn't happen, they just move on to the next scare.

No, George Clooney. You Don’t Get to Retcon Biden’s Legacy to Make Yourself Look Better

Clooney was another leftist clinging to the rotting corpse of Biden's campaign in the hopes of keeping Donald Trump out of the White House

Ridicule Is the Final Frontier for the Ladies of Blue Origin

Katy Perry, Lauren Sanchez and Gayle King, pretended to be astronauts and corporate media pretended their brief trek was news.

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Trump has done the near-impossible. He’s made us feel sorry for poor, picked-upon Harvard…Greenland, Canada, the Panama Canal, and now Chile? American Thinker wants Trump to “snatch” an important deep-water port in Chile that China allegedly is angling to control.…Phrase of the day: “harem drama.” That refers to the challenges of managing Elon Musk’s four women who together have given birth to at least 14 of the mega-billionaire’s children.  According to the Wall Street Journal, it’s just one of the many responsibilities of Musk wingman Jared Birchall…AOC all the way? NY Post columnist Isaac Schorr thinks that AOC is a legitimate contender for a strong White House run in 2028.  He cites a Yale University poll that names her as the most popular Democrat. “The enthusiasm she inspires on the left is matched only by that which Trump evokes on the right,” Schorr writes….The National Review throws shade at Secretary of State Marco Rubio for flubbing the government’s explanation for the case against Abrego Garcia.  “It is inconceivable that the secretary of state is unaware the man had a legal right against deportation to El Salvador that was enforceable in court,” the National Review states…News to me: For almost a year, the Daily Caller has been publishing a free, weekly newsletter cleverly named Mr. Right.  Its apparent goal is to “break the Left’s monopoly on advice columns.”  I just signed up and I’ll report back once I see a few issues…If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Call them Grift Team Six. If there is a chance for a free plane ride, a Codel and free publicity, members of the U.S. House and Senate are the chiselers you will never need. Double that since they are Democrats.

The Anti-Israel Left Now Wants to Target Cops

source: Daily Caller

If you thought the anti-Israel and antisemitic protesters of 2023 were only ever going to complain about the actions of a foreign government, think again. Far from backing down, two new studies show that the unsavory elements behind the pro-Hamas movement are now rebranding into a radical, violent, anti-police movement.

83-Year-Old Communist Is Celebrated as the New Face of the Trump Resistance

source: SteveGruber.com

Sen. Bernie Sanders took to the stage at Coachella recently to decry the evils of oligarchy in front of a crowd that paid at least $600 for the privilege of being there. This is the same Bernie who owns three homes and has been a fixture in politics for over half a century. For some reason he decided that a luxury music festival was the perfect venue to rally against the billionaire class.
