TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! It’s been a year and a day since Trump was grazed by a bullet in a failed assassination attempt in Butler, Penn.  I believe he would have captured the presidency even if it hadn’t happened.  But it certainly put wind in his sail and it burnished the aura around him as an invincible almost superhuman populist who overcomes any obstacles in his path. Worth noting: the Victory Girls blog thinks Butler was the day Trump won the presidency...Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump interviewed POTUS for 41 minutes on her Saturday Fox News program.  It was a predictable tongue bath. Here’s the video...Thanks for nothing Trump! Food banks are sounding the alarm that food is running short in their pantries just when Americans are most needy.  The culprit, according to the Wall Street Journal: slashed budgets at food stamps and other federal programs....Launch day: Conservative CNN commentator and controversy magnet Scott Jennings is expanding his footprint.  His new daily one-hour talk program, “The Scott Jennings Show,” launches today on the Salem Radio Network...Who’s moving to Ohio  (not that there’s anything wrong with it)? The Gateway Pundit reports that Buckeye state gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy will unveil a billboard in NYC’s Times Square today advising Big Apple residents to leave the city and head to Ohio. The billboard positions Zohran Mamdani, who’s running to be mayor, as a radical socialist, while  Ramaswamy “protects freedom”... Spell check: The NEA, the nation’s largest teachers’ union, tripped on its dictionary.  It misspelled “fascism” in a resolution against President Trump.  (Not the Bee)...If  you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Left Didn’t Count on Trump Winning and Enforcing Immigration Laws

It's open season on ICE agents and others in law enforcement who work with them. No wonder they're masking up.

Dems Fan the Flames of “Assassination Culture” Against ICE

source: NY Post

Violent assailants are targeting federal law enforcement officials with murderous intent. US Immigration and Customs Enforcement is bearing the brunt of these assaults, with aggression against ICE agents up 700% compared to thelast year.Blame the Democrats — as their unhinged rhetoric turbocharges the left’s “assassination culture.”

CNN and MSNBC Ignored the Violent July 4 Attacks on ICE Agents

July 4 silence was just a matter of the C-team and interns running the newsroom. It feels more deliberate than that.

“The View” Finally Went Too Far

Unhinged co-host Sunny Hostin suggests ICE agents are getting what's coming to them.

Trump Economy Defies Doomsday Predictions

source: Daily Signal

Many so-called experts predicted that President Donald Trump’s economic agenda would usher in an inflationary Armageddon. This projection was so often repeated in the media that many Americans, especially Democrats, believed a depression was imminent. Yet the economy is thoroughly beating expectations

The GOP’s Audacious Midterm Strategy

source: American Spectator

Republicans will need to defy history. The President’s party almost always loses House seats in the midterms. Consequently, the Republicans have a bold strategy that includes redistricting two states before the midterms.

America Can’t Afford to Be the Arsenal of the World Anymore

A foreign policy rooted in realism begins by recognizing limits: of production, of attention, and perhaps most of all, of obligation.

The Pragmatic “60 Minutes” Settlement

By settling the Trump lawsuit, Paramount didn’t cave in. It’s helping CBS News focus on its mission.

Border Czar Tom Homan Is the Sexy Beast We Need

We need real men and real women running our country not the “sanitized for your protection” human avatars preferred by the District of Columbia types. They are appalled by a sexy beast.

Trump Remembers Butler and So Should the Country

source: Victory Girls

It has been a full year since Trump was shot in Butler. In retrospect, we can all point to the June debate as the moment that Joe Biden lost the presidency. And we can also all point to this rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, as the moment that Donald Trump won his second term.

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Don’t read before bedtime:  Flame-throwing ultra-right-wing Townhall columnist Kurt Schlichter has a new novel coming out July 17.  American Apocalypse: The Second Civil War offers a fictional look at America after the president is assassinated and left-wingers take control of the government.  The promo copy on Amazon says the novel “unsparingly describes the hell awaiting at the bottom of America’s slippery slope”... Speaking of books, NY Times columnist David Brooks has a particularly perceptive column about When Novels Mattered.  His central thesis, and I completely agree with him, is that “literature plays a much smaller role in our national life.”  In case you’re wondering, I read about 25 books a year on my Kindle and about 10 are novels.  Haven’t read on paper in more than 15 years....New Podcast Alert: Oliver Darcy and Jon Passantino, the brains (and voices) behind the excellent Status newsletter, launched their new weekly podcast today. It’s called “Power Lines.” You can listen on Apple podcasts or Spotify, or watch here on YouTube.  They are among the best media reporters and wordsmiths working today...Weekend Watch: I’ve just finished the first part of the Netflix four-hour documentary Attack on London: Hunting the 7/7 Bombers and I’m hooked.  This week marks the 20th anniversary of the 2005 terrorist incident in London that claimed 52 lives and injured hundreds others.  The fast pace and relentless tension often makes the program feel  more like a Tom Cruise thriller than a sober-minded documentary.  But it reminds us that the threat of a terror attack remains a constant presence in our lives...If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. We Are Witnessing One of the Greatest Bromances in the History of Mankind

source: Washington Free Beacon

The formidable masculine partnership between Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump is raising the art of the bromance to heights unseen since the dawn of man. Teaming up to demolish Iran's nuclear program was objectively one of the most epic things any two bros have ever done together.

Stop Pretending the Dems Are Imploding

Riots, mutilations, and ICE ambushes haven’t slowed the party’s renewed momentum. That should terrify anyone who thinks the tide has turned.

Millionaire Michelle Obama and Hollywood Star Pal Embarrass Themselves Bemoaning Barriers They Face as Women

source: RedState

Former First Lady Michelle Obama is back out here complaining again; this time, the millionaire and her nearly billionaire pal, Hollywood star Julia Louis-Dreyfus, bemoaned the barriers they face as women. Yes, really.

MAGA vs Ultra-MAGA

The movement is splitting between those who value fealty to Trump no matter what and those who still believe in what it originally stood for.

Mamdani Is the Mayor That NYC Dems Deserve

If the citizens of New York City vote in Zohran Mamdani as their mayor come November, and things go badly, then Gotham really can’t ask for our sympathy.
