(The Free Press). Worth noting: Zito’s tome , Butler: The Untold Story of the Near Assassination of Donald Trump, hits shelves today...Blame DOGE? Kerr County, Texas, residents most likely could have been warned earlier of the fatal flood raging their way, according to the NY Times. Op-ed scribe Zeynep Tufekci points to DOGE cuts to the National Weather Service (NWS) that resulted in a key employee leaving the agency. “(T)he Weather Service employee whose job it was to make sure those warnings got traction — Paul Yura, the long-serving meteorologist in charge of ‘warning coordination’ — had recently taken an unplanned early retirement amid cuts pushed by the so-called Department of Government Efficiency.
