TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings!  Listening to the Law, the just published tome by the U.S. Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett, was judged “studiously bland'  by the NY Times. See if you agree after sampling  this short four-paragraph excerpt posted by CBS News ...One reason Sean Hannity relocated from New York to Florida was because he didn’t like getting the stink eye from fellow diners in swank Gotham eateries.   Or as Liberty Paige of SteveGruber.com explains, he tired of “being treated like a wanted fugitive every time he tried to eat a plate of linguine at a Manhattan restaurant. Apparently, Hannity couldn’t so much as order a Caesar salad without being greeted by death stares from the city’s enlightened elites”....Contrary to what the Washington Free Beacon reported yesterday, LeBron James did not write an op-ed for a  Chinese Communist Party newspaper. The LA Lakers superstar did speak to The People’s Daily for an article about  how basketball promotes global understanding. It was the editors of the outlet that put LeBron's byline on the story, according to Breitbart...More shame on the execrably shameless Infowars.  The ultra-right outlet published an unedited video of the fatal mass transit stabbing in Charlotte, NC, of 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska.  (Purposely not including links to the video)...Mazel Tov! Oliver North, the  81-year-old Reagan-era national security aide at the heart of the Iran-Contra scandal and Fawn Hall, 66, his striking secretary from that era who helped him shred documents about the illegal operation, were secretly married last spring.  During Iran-Contra, the buzz was North and Hall were romantically involved. Still Ollie stayed married to his first wife Betsy of 56 years who passed away last November. That’s one helluva love story no matter what you thought of North’s conservative politics (USA Today)...If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard

At a recent event in New York, Democratic Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani was forcefully interrupted by a citizen who confronted him with the words: “You’re a communist, you will never be there. This is not Cuba, fool. Communism will never be there.”

DEI Is the Real Cause of America’s Housing Crisis

source: Fox News

Population growth is slowing, deportations are increasing and new home construction already outpaces family creation. The shortage is a myth created by activists so they can force residential living patterns to conform to DEI dogma.

Cracker Barrel’s Retreat Shows the Right Has Cultural Power

source: The Federalist

Contrary to popular belief among the woke scolds running corporate America’s HR departments, the radical gender and race politics being shoehorned into every facet of modern culture are not normal. Nor should Americans be forced to pretend that they are.

Leftists in America and Britain Have No Respect for Free Speech

source: WND

The fight for freedom of speech knows no borders. That became abundantly clear this past week in Great Britain and in Congress. Graham Linehan, known for the U.K. sitcom "Father Ted," penned three X posts in criticizing transgenderism while he was in Arizona. When he flew to London on Sept. 1, this Irish citizen was met by police officers, who arrested him on suspicion of inciting violence.

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Wall Street Journal columnist Andy Kessler loves that the Defense Department has been rebranded as the Department of War.  And in his latest imaginative column, he offers ideas for other rebrands of government bureaucracies that describe their function in language that citizens can understand.  For instance: Treasury should become the Dollar Printing Like Confetti Department; rename the Department of Education as the Remedial Instructor Full Employment group; and the Postal Service now needs to be called the Slow Expensive Obsolete Monopoly...Agree! The National Review urges the government not to abandon the MMR vaccine. “The legacy of Covid-era overreach is no reason to give measles a new lease on life,” the editors wrote...Agree! The Washington Examiner says Florida has made a “grave mistake” by undoing it vaccine mandates. Understatement of the year...How low (brow) can you go?  The White House will host a UFC mixed martial arts cage fight on the south lawn next summer. I guess they couldn’t book the Kennedy Center. (RSBN)... Looks like there’s going to be a new Squad member.  So says the Washington Times, which names Adelita Grijalva, a progressive Democrat who’s running for Congress in Arizona. Among her causes, she supports free preschool education for low-income families...The Gateway Pundit is gloating because former CNN anchor Don Lemon was humiliated during a man-in-the-street interview he conducted with a belligerent passerby.  You can read the details and see the video here...If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting.
