TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Sign of the times: CBS just named Tony Dokoupil the anchor of its ratings-challenged Evening News broadcast.  That means that three middle-age white men are now the face of their respective news divisions.  But no one’s clutching their pearls over this development for two reasons: In the age of Trump 2.0, gender balance is so yesterday’s concern; Plus, does anybody beyond the readership of the AARP membership really care who’s anchoring the network nightly newscasts in 2025?...Influential  right-wing podcaster and  public intellectual Dr. Jordan B. Peterson is battling a “devastating health condition,” according to an article in the Daily Caller.  The report says he is suffering from chronic inflammatory response syndrome and was just released from the hospital.  Since August, Peterson has posted only two podcasts, according to Castbox postings...Cameras will be allowed in court for the trial of Tyler Robinson, the accused assassin of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk, according to the Daily Wire. For right-wing news organizations like Newsmax, OAN and RSBN, this is their OJ Simpson trial moment. Careers and reputations will rise and fall on the coverage...Weekend Watch: Check out the engrossing After the Hunt (lousy title BTW). The Amazon Prime Video film stars Julia Roberts in a surefire Oscar-bait role as a popular Yale University professor caught up in a he said/she said scandal involving one of her students and a handsome faculty colleague. Despite the pretentious tone and uneven script, the movie hooked me. Worth noting: Tomorrow night, newly anointed CBS editor-in-chief Bari Weiss interviews Charlie Kirk’s widow Erika in a prime time special. Saturday night is hardly choice real estate for serious fare, but the one-hour length of A Town Hall with Erika Kirk and  its 8 p.m. time slot reveals much about the political direction of CBS News...If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Europe’s War on Democracy

This has been a bad year for European democracy. In the space of just 18 months, elections have been annulled, opposition leaders banned, and governments financially punished for carrying out the policies their voters chose.

TOP OF THE DAY by Howard Polskin

Greetings! Christmas came early for big bucks foreigners looking for an expedited path to the U.S. residency. Yesterday, The Donald announced the Trump Gold Card, which affords a relatively quick way  to live in the USA.  There’s a nonrefundable $15,000 processing fee, and then a $1 million “gift” requirement after the applicant is vetted…The Washington Free Beacon has Maryland Governor Wes Moore, a rising star in the Democratic party, in its crosshairs. “As he positions himself as a contender for the Democratic presidential nomination, the governor...is likely to face mounting scrutiny for repeated exaggerations and falsehoods regarding his athletic, academic, and military achievements,” posits today’s lead story on the Beacon’s website...Assuming Donald Trump doesn’t blow past all constitutional guardrails and stays put in the White House, the Wall Street Journal predicts that “2028 is MAGA’s expiration date.” (That sound you hear is me clapping.) “The first and most obvious thing to be said about Mr. Trump’s Make America Great Again ‘movement’ is that it isn’t a movement,” writes the WSJ’s  Barton Swain. “MAGA, as I am not the first to observe, is Mr. Trump and nothing else. When he changes his mind or reverses course, as he often does, his enthusiasts do the same. That isn’t a movement”...Trump’s Truth Social platform was the only right-wing news outlet to post a rise in November traffic. All other news outlets on the right, left and center cratered, according to TheRighting’s exclusive analysis...If you keep reading, I’ll keep Righting. Howard

Weather Hysteria, Green Energy Scams Spur Political Fallout

In case some of you didn't notice the lack of scary headlines about "worst ever" extreme weather this year or reliable dire warnings from the United Nations about another last chance to save the planet from ravages of fossil-fueled climate Armageddon, maybe it's because mainstream news hasn't had anything sufficiently terrifying to report.

MRC Releases Shocking Poll About Charlie Kirk’s Killer

source: Blaze Media

The coverage surrounding the murder of Charlie Kirk may have been honest if you watch conservative media, but the rest of the media wasn’t so keen on telling the truth. According to a November 25 poll conducted for the Media Research Center (MRC), only 24% of respondents correctly asserted that Tyler Robinson — Kirk's assassin — was left-wing.

There’s Nothing Funnier Than Fussy, Furious Euroweenies

source: Townhall

By Kurt Schlichter: Our European friends are annoying layabouts who do nothing but whine as they feed off the corpse of the civilization they inherited like cultural trust fund babies. They are upset because Trump’s national security strategy recognizes that Europe is unable to defend itself and is increasingly unworthy of us squandering more blood and treasure to do it for them.
