Growth Stalls at Trump’s Truth Social

Foxnews.com Records Double-Digit Traffic Increase for Sixth Consecutive Month

June 22,  2023, New York, NY – For the first time since February 2023 when TheRighting began measuring year-over-year (YOY) traffic to Donald Trump’s Truth Social, the platform failed to generate an increase in unique visitors.  According to TheRighting’s exclusive analysis of mobile and desktop traffic based on Comscore data for May, Truth Social attracted 3.2 million unique visitors in May 2023, which was the same amount as in May 2022.

The conservative-friendly social media platform has never drawn more than four million unique visitors (August 2022) since TheRighting began tracking Truth Social’s audience in June 2022.  The site debuted in February 2022.

“The stalled audience growth of Truth Social, which is often tied closely  to Mr. Trump’s political identity, suggests that he’s not adding to his base of followers,” said Howard Polskin, President and Chief Curator, TheRighting. “That could signal challenges for his 2024 presidential ambitions.”

Here are the May 2023 unique visitors for the four conservative-friendly social media platforms TheRighting follows:

·      Rumble (14,098,000; +64% vs year ago)

·      Truth Social  (3,222,000; 0% vs year ago)

·      MeWe (833,000; -11% vs year ago)

·      Gettr (246,000; -70% vs year ago)

Foxnews.com had its sixth straight month of double-digit traffic gains.  The site attracted more than 82 million unique visitors as the YOY audience swelled 11%.

The major mainstream news websites TheRighting follows struggled in May.  Unique visitors to the New York Times brand dropped 20%, while the Washington Post experienced a 15% decline.  CNN suffered a YOY loss in May of 14%.
