Foxnews.com Registers Double-Digit Audience Gains in October While Other News Sites Wobble

November 20, 2023, New  York, NY – For the ninth time this year, Foxnews.com increased year-over-year (YOY) unique visitors. According to TheRighting’s exclusive analysis of mobile and desktop traffic based on Comscore data for October 2023, Fox News posted an 11% YOY gain in audience compared to October 2022.  However, the results for most of TheRighting’s top 20 right wing websites for the month was decidedly mixed.

“While the October 7 murderous attack by Hamas on Israel was an earth-shaking event that dominated news cycles throughout the month, it was surprising that the majority of websites TheRighting studied didn’t increase their traffic in October,”  said Howard Polskin, President, TheRighting.  “Even legacy mainstream news brands like The New York Times and The Washington Post experienced audience declines  in unique visitors during this period.”

Of the three mainstream news sites TheRighting follows regularly, only CNN.com saw its traffic rise, attracting 129 million unique visitors, up 16% from October 2022.  It was CNN.com’s second largest monthly audience of the year.  The New York Times brand declined 7% in October and the Washington Post dropped 15% in YOY unique visitors.

·      Gettr (201,000; -32% vs year ago)

Each month, TheRighting examines Comscore data on dozens of prominent right wing websites that post original content.  TheRighting ranks the top 20 right wing websites on the basis of unique visitors and also provides data on whether unique visitors have increased or decreased year-over-year.
