Prominent Conservative Websites

Post Significant Traffic Declines in October

 November 29, 2018, New York, NY – Several prominent conservative websites posted steep double-digit drops in unique visitors in October 2018 compared to October 2017, according to TheRighting’s exclusive analysis of Comscore data.  The websites include Infowars (-66%), Hannity.com (-49%), Breitbart (-42%) and Newsmax (-28%).  All four rank in TheRighting’s top 20 conservative websites of the month. 

 The Weekly Standard generated an 80% increase in year-over-year unique visitors followed by The Washington Times, (+37%), RedState (+31%), RushLimbaugh.com (+30%), and The Federalist (23%). 

 The top five right-wing websites in October based on the total number of unique visitors are as follows:

1.     Foxnews.com (89,672,000)

2.     Breitbart (8,735,000)

3.     The Washington Examiner (8,387,000)

4.     The Washington Times (7,164,000)

5.     The Western Journal (6,575,000)

 The three prominent mainstream media sites TheRighting tracks each month experienced mixed results in year-over-year unique visitors: NYTimes.com (+4%), WashingtonPost.com (+1%) and CNN.com (-9%). 

 Each month, TheRighting examines Comscore data on dozens of prominent conservative websites that post original content.  TheRighting ranks the top 20 conservative websites on the basis of unique visitors and also provides data on whether unique visitors have increased or decreased year over year.  That information is posted on the Metrics section of TheRighting’s website.  (October 2018 data available here.)
