 Bongino.com Posts 780% Rise in Year-Over-Year Traffic,

More Than Any Top Right-Wing Website in September

October 30, 2020, New York, NY – Conservative commentator Dan Bongino’s namesake website, Bongino.com*, saw its year-over-year (YOY) unique visitors for September 2020 skyrocket 780%, according to TheRighting’s exclusive analysis of mobile and desktop traffic based on Comscore data.  For the second month in a row, it was by far the largest YOY increase of any conservative website tracked by TheRighting. In September 2020, Bongino.com attracted 2,593,000 unique visitors compared to only 295,000 unique visitors in September 2019.

Overall, the robust news environment resulted in positive audience gains for 19 of the top 20 conservative websites in TheRighting’s monthly chart.  Only the Daily Caller saw a YOY dip (-9%) in unique visitors.  It was the second month in a row for the Daily Caller’s decline.

Two other popular right-tilting websites also experienced YOY traffic declines in September 2020 based on Comscore data.  The Drudge Report, the well-known and influential news aggregator, posted a 45% decline, continuing a 2020 nine-month losing streak.  And Infowars showed a 1% drop, making it five months in a row for shrinking YOY audience.

“Strong audience growth for most conservative websites continues to be driven by a heated news environment that shows no signs of cooling off,” said Howard Polskin, President and Chief Curator, TheRighting.  “Notable stories in September 2020 included the escalation of the pandemic, the dramatic revelations in Bob Woodward’s latest book on President Trump, the fireworks that characterized the first Trump-Biden debate, the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the contentious nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court and the explosive story in the New York Times about Trump’s tax returns.  These stories played like a reality show and kept audiences thoroughly engaged throughout the month as they kept turning to news media to learn the latest unfolding developments.”

Foxnews.com led all conservative websites attracting 104,089,000 unique visitors, a 9% YOY gain.  However, it was dwarfed by CNN.com which exceeded all mainstream and conservative media websites analyzed by TheRighting with 144,471,000 unique visitors for a 11% YOY gain in September 2020 traffic.   The New York Times Brand attracted 95,060,000 unique visitors (+3% YOY), followed by the Washingtonpost.com with 91,567,000 unique visitors (+3% YOY). TheRighting tracks those three mainstream websites on a regular basis.
