Greetings! Near the conclusion of last night’s mostly unwoke Oscars, host Jimmy Kimmel took a huge gamble by reading a Donald Trump Truth Social post critiquing the splashy awards ceremony.  Here’s an abbreviated sample of what Trump wrote and Kimmel read: “Has there EVER been a WORSE HOST than Jimmy Kimmel at The Oscars. Get rid of Kimmel and perhaps replace him with another washed up, but cheap, ABC ‘talent,’ George Slopanopoulos.” At first, it seemed like a prepared bit, but it was clearly an impromptu riff, as Kimmel responded to the Defendant-in-Chief with this priceless ad-lib: “Thank you for watching. Isn’t it past your jail time?”…Mitch McConnell’s billionaire sister-in-law Angela Chao backed her Tesla into a pond on her 900-acre Texas ranch last month and drowned.  A conspiracy theory making the rounds is that she may have been taken out by Chinese operatives, according to a thorough article in the Wall Street Journal.…The latest right wing bete noire is Sen. Katie Britts (R-Alabama), who delivered the jarring GOP response to Joe Biden’s State of the Union address last week. Naturally, “Saturday Night Live” delivered a pitch-perfect parody of her petrifying performance, featuring Scarlett Johansson in the role of MAGA world’s latest starlet.
