Megyn Kelly and Matt Walsh Host Q3’s Fastest-Growing Right-Wing Podcasts

Podcasts from The Daily Wire and Blaze Media Dominate Top 20 List

October 12, 2022, New York, NY – Year-over-year (YOY) subscribers to “The Megyn Kelly Show” increased 60% making it the third quarter’s fastest-growing conservative podcast by percentage, according to data analyzed by TheRighting on the podcast app Castbox.  “The Matt Walsh Show” increased its YOY subscribers by 56% as it became the second fastest-growing conservative podcast as measured by TheRighting.

“The Matt Walsh Show” is part of The Daily Wire’s podcast network, which landed five other programs in TheRighting’s exclusive top 20 chart: “The Ben Shapiro Show” (ranked #1), “The Michael Knowles Show” (#11), “The Andrew Klavan Show” (#12), “The Morning Wire” (#18), and “Candace” (#20). 

Three podcasts from Blaze Media also ranked high in TheRighting’s top 20 list: “Louder with Crowder” (#4), “The Rubin Report” (#6) and “The Glenn Beck Program” (#8). 

“The popularity of Megyn Kelly’s podcast was undoubtedly helped by the September 2021 launch of her program on SiriusXM’s Triumph Channel,” said Howard Polskin, President of TheRighting.  “She, Candace Owens and Laura Ingraham were the only women to crack our top 20 list. Conservative podcasting at this point in time seems dominated by men.”

Top Right-Wing Podcasts by Subscriber Growth

(total number of new subscribers added on the Castbox platform Q3 2022 v Q3 2021):

·      “The Ben Shapiro Show,” 64,309subscribers

·      “The Dan Bongino Show,” 15,456 subscribers

·      “The Megyn Kelly Show,” 11,488 subscribers

“The Ben Shapiro Show” once again was by far the most popular right-wing podcast with 501,595 subscribers on Castbox.  While “Bannon’s War Room” failed to crack the top 20 chart, it added 6,115 subscribers, up 43% for the quarter.  It ranks as the 23rd most popular right-wing podcast with 13,966 Castbox subscribers.

Methodology

This report is based on data that is updated daily from the podcast app Castbox, which is the sixth most popular app on the podcast-hosting platform Buzzsprout.   Castbox represents 1.6% of all podcasts that Buzzsprout serves. No other leading podcast app besides Castbox makes its data available.
