Two Shows Produced by The Daily Wire Rank as the Fastest-Growing Conservative News Podcasts

June 9, 2021, New York, NY – Two shows produced by The Daily Wire ranked as conservative media’s fastest-growing news podcasts in May, according to TheRighting’s exclusive analysis based on Castbox data.  

“The Ben Shapiro Show” added 2,856 subscribers on the Castbox app in the month of May, the most of any conservative podcast.  Altogether, the show has 419,737 subscribers on the Castbox app, more than any other right-wing podcast.  “Candace,” which was just launched March 19, 2021, by The Daily Wire and features young conservative Black political commentator Candace Owens, generated 2,116 Castbox subscribers for the month.  The weekly show was May’s second fastest-growing conservative podcast, according to TheRighting’s research.

Other Daily Wire productions in TheRighting’s top 20 conservative podcast chart include programs from Andrew Klavan (#11), Michael Knowles (#12) and Matt Walsh (#17).  

“The Dan Bongino Show,” which added 1,535 May subscribers,  was the only other conservative podcast to crack one thousand new subscribers last month.  It was the third fastest-growing conservative news podcast.  

“Bannon’s War Room,” which didn’t make TheRighting’s top 20 list, nonetheless added 456 subscribers, making it the eighth fastest-growing conservative news podcast for May.   

Among mainstream and liberal news podcasts tracked by TheRighting, only “The Daily” (5,223) and the BBC’s “Global News Podcast” (4,470) attracted more new subscribers in May than “The Ben Shapiro Show.” 

Methodology

This report is based on data that is updated daily from the podcast app Castbox, which is the third most popular app on the podcast-hosting platform Buzzsprout.  Castbox represents 2.9% of all podcasts that Buzzsprout serves ranking behind Apple Podcasts (29.8%) and Spotify (29.4%).  No other leading podcast app besides Castbox makes its data available.
