July 13, 2022, New York, NY – Second quarter subscribers to “The Matt Walsh Show” increased by 17% compared to the first quarter, making it the fastest growing conservative podcast according to TheRighting’s exclusive analysis of Castbox data.  Furthermore, it was the second straight quarter where the podcast featuring conservative pundit and author Matt Walsh registered double digit percentage gains compared to the first quarter of2022.

“The Matt Walsh Show” started Q2 with 19,792 subscribers on the Castbox platform and ended with 23,103. It ranked #16 on TheRighting’s top 20 conservative podcast chart. The show is part of The Daily Wire’s robust podcast network.

Another show from the company’s stable of podcasts, “The Morning Wire,” generated a 6% rise in subscribers, making it the second fastest-growing conservative podcast in Q2.  “The Ben Shapiro Show,” another show from The Daily Wire, continued its reign as the most popular conservative podcast on the Castbox platform with 488,059 total subscribers, which far surpasses any other podcast from the Right.  The show started the quarter with 470,211 subscribers.

“While Matt Walsh has a fraction of Shapiro’s subscriber base, Walsh’s program had the largest percent increase in subscribers of any conservative podcaster,” said Howard Polskin, President and Founder, TheRighting.  “I would attribute this surge to the wide attention he received for his controversial documentary ‘What Is a Woman,’ which was released on June 1.”

Another strong conservative podcast performer in the second quarter was the “The Dinesh D’Souza Podcast.” While the program didn’t crack TheRighting’s top 20 list, the podcast posted a 12% increase in subscribers compared to Q1 on the Castbox platform. “The media coverage of D’Souza’s controversial election-fraud documentary ‘2000 Mules’ in the second quarter no doubt fanned consumer interest in D’Souza and his polarizing theories which led to the increase in subscribers,” said Polskin.
