 Ben Shapiro’s Podcast Posts Massive Subscriber Growth in August

“Bannon’s War Room” Coming on Strong 

September 8, 2021, New York, NY – “The Ben Shapiro Show,” an hour-long daily podcast hosted by right-wing commentator and media mogul Ben Shapiro, drew more new subscribers in August than any other conservative  podcast.  The program attracted 5,698 subscribers for the month on the Castbox platform, by far the most of any conservative podcast  “The Ben Shapiro Show” has more subscribers than any right-wing podcast and the vast majority of mainstream news podcasts as well.

 “The Dan Bongino Show” was the second fastest-growing podcast in August, adding 2,173 new subscribers.  It ranked as the #3 podcast in total subscribers, with 86,922 subscribers as of August 31, behind “Bill O’Reilly’s No Spin News” which has 107,928 subscribers on the Castbox platform.  

 Although “Bannon’s War Room” didn’t crack TheRighting’s top 20, it drew 830 new subscribers for August, making it the third fast-growing podcast for the month.

 Among mainstream and liberal news podcasts that TheRighting follows, only “The Daily” (+9,301) from The New York Times and the BBC’s “Global News Pod” (+6,884) tallied more new subscribers than Shapiro’s podcast.  

 Methodology

This report is based on data that is updated daily from the podcast app Castbox, which is tied with Google Podcasts as the third most popular app on the podcast-hosting platform Buzzsprout.   Castbox represents 2.9% of all podcasts that Buzzsprout serves ranking behind Spotify (31.7%) and Apple Podcasts (26.9%) and tied with Google Podcasts (2.9%).  No other leading podcast app besides Castbox makes its data available.
