Right Wing Media’s Fastest-Growing Podcast Remains Matt Walsh Program for Second Consecutive Quarter

January 17, 2024, New York, NY – For the second quarter in a row, “The Matt Walsh Show” ranked as right wing media’s fastest growing podcast based on TheRighting’s analysis of year-over-year (YOY) data from the podcast app Castbox. The daily show experienced a 50% surge in Castbox subscribers, rising from 26,346 at the end of 2023’s fourth quarter to 52,573 on December 30, 2023.

Other podcasts had strong fourth quarters as well including the “Ben Shapiro Show” which retained its massive lead as the biggest right wing podcast with more than half a million subscribers.  It was well ahead of the #2 program “Jordan Peterson Podcast” which attracted 410,898 subscribers at the end of 2023.

“While ‘The Matt Walsh Show’ is enjoying hockey stick year-over-year growth, his quarter-to-quarter increases are slowing dramatically, and I anticipate that we’ll see much softer growth by the middle of 2024,” said Howard Polskin, President, TheRighting.  “But Mr. Walsh will still remain a force and a strong voice in right wing podcasting.”

This report is based on data that is updated daily from the podcast app Castbox, which is the sixth most popular app on the podcast-hosting platform Buzzsprout.  Castbox represents 1.8% of all podcasts that Buzzsprout serves. No other leading podcast app besides Castbox makes its data available. TheRighting’s top 20 chart only lists programs that have had new podcasts available on the Castbox platform since January 1, 2023.
